The scriptures below are the same text just different versions of the Bible. The question that I would like to pose is how submitted must one be for them to be considered submitted? When does division occur?

"Authorities" can be far reaching...parent, pastor, school teacher, employer, police officer, congress, assembly, President, etc.

Rom 13:1-3
1 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.
3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; (NAU)

It depends on who is doing the leading and who is submitting. I believe the scriptures have been so misinterpreted that people really don't understand the meaning or purpose of submission. I sure wish I had taken a Greek and Hebrew class in college..I still might. I really wish I knew some of the meanings of these words and scriptural context.

Your comment is very interesting as I would believe that many would agree with you. One thing you stated is, "It depends on who is doing the leading..."

I think that this is the predominant determination for most people, but what if a school teacher who is homosexual or atheist is a Christians teacher. Does this exempt the child from honoring their position?

The Bible speaks of the man being the head of the woman, but what if the man is a sinner? Where is the point of rightful resistance?
