I understand. Repaired and re-attached left achilles tendon, removed bone spurs, and shaved my heel bone. It's been four weeks and I have four more weeks to go before I can put any weight on it, then six months in a brace.
Been fun, preaching in a wheelchair! NOT!

I do like the Tide To Go pen commercial. It makes me laugh out loud everytime I see it (which is a lot).
The guy has a stain on his shirt and he's interviewing. The interviewer can't listen to the guy because the stain on his shirt is talking in a forgeign language.
It's hilarious!

Ah hmm......
and just what about the stain leads to an act of hilarity?
Do stains often amuse you?
How often do you hear stains "speak" to you?
Do you speak to the stains?
And this interaction with stains, it is, exhilarating for you?
I see...........
(scoot over PO, got another one for the short bus )

Well, another first today!
My son came by after he got off work to take me to the grocery store. I walked in with my cane and hopped on one of those electric scooters with a basket.
Oh my lord.......talk about humbling!
My son walked along side me and my driving machine and handed me things I couldn't reach.
It was funny really and I give my son props for not being too embarrassed to be with me.
It was great to get out and get fresh food!!!!

He said he wished I had a hot tub - - - he's not the only one! He suggested taking a warm tub bath to just soak it in and move my leg, but I'm not going to EVEN try that. Have someone get you a shower chair and sit in the shower with the spray aimed right at your leg.

I do have a shower chair and a hand held shower spray - - it does feel really good to let the warm water flow over my knee. I can see where being in a hot tub would be great though - - it'd be easier to move my leg back and forth.

In our area, we have a couple of homes for Mentally and Physically Handicapped Children and Adults that have inside pools and hottubs. The general public can get a membership at either of them for only $30 a month. That lets you come three times a week for water aerobics and the use of the hottub is always 'free' with that membership. I wonder if there might be something like that near you? And if there is, is there someone nearby who can get you there?
The other place to check are local hotels that have indoor pools and hottubs. You won't want to check those that have the waterpark stuff. Too much $$$$'s. But here you can go to those with just the pool and hot tub for about the same $30 a month.
Just a couple of ideas for you. Especially if you're just sitting there bored. Get your phone book out and start making a few calls :)

It was a 600 LB woman who got in the city pool, but could not get out!

My question is: how and WHY did she get in that pool to begin with? Didn't she realize how hard it was going to be to get out? I look for pools that have gradual steps to get in and out of. I hate those ladder things!
