View Full Version : FOX Does NOT Lie About Obama's Pastor!
I think enough has been posted in chosenbyone's thread to refute the title he gave it so I am posting this new thread to give equal prominence supporting FOX news as his title denigrating it.
Good for you.
the good pastor quoted "chickens come home to roost"
that was it. the tyrade that everyone is talking about was 100% Jermiah Wright.
Yup. The scary thing is those looking to defend Obama are much like the Clinton followers who will excuse any wrongs, lack of judgement, etc on the basis of a personality cult.
By sitting under Jeremiah Wright for over 20 years Obama refuted the very premise upon which he is running - that he has good judgement in spite of little experience.

My wife is a Fox news fan.
She will not allow watching CNN.
A few days I happened to tune in CNN to catch the news. I didn't remember the channel number for Fox.
She caught me watching CNN and challenged me for watching it.
She won't watch CNN.
She has two reasons:
1. Because Bill Hemmer (cute kid from Cincinnati) is on Fox now instead of CNN.
2. CNN is too liberal (just part of the Hollywood/network/entertainment crowd).
Neither will she watch Katie Couric or Oprah because of their left wing, new age, anti-Christ attitudes.

Whether Fox News lied or not is irrelevent; the fact that Obama allowed JW to be his pastor for 20 years says enough for me. No one can tell me that he isn't poisoned by the hatred JW poured out of his own mouth.

I agree with CC on this, I do NOT believe FOX lied either. JW believes and teaches black liberation theology. Why would someone go to a church that DID NOT believe or support the same theology?? Especially for 20 years?
Obama is foremost a politician and is going to say what it takes to get where he wants to be. (Most politicians do that)

Faith, Race and Politics
By Harry R. Jackson, Jr.
Monday, March 24, 2008
Obama missed a huge opportunity to reach out and connect with the broader evangelical, faith community. Many non-black, Bible believing Christians have questioned the orthodoxy of the Senator’s faith. Evangelicals are troubled by the senator’s position on abortion and traditional marriage.
Though brilliant on the surface, last week’s speech wrongly characterized the problem with his minister’s preaching as solely a problem of race. In my view this controversy is more a matter of personal honesty and faith. I agree with Ken Blackwell’s critique of liberation theology. He wrote the following statement last Tuesday, “Liberation Theology... is a belief system about political agendas, socialistic economic policy, and redistribution of wealth.”
The fact is that neither the Senator nor his pastor is qualified to solve this race question in our nation. At the risk of sounding impractical, let me remind everyone that racism is a spiritual problem. It is a matter of the heart, first of all. And because it is truly a spiritual problem, it will require the involvement of a unified, emotionally focused church to lead us toward racial reconciliation.
The time is right to heal America! I’m ready. What about you?

If Obama turns out to be a great president, it won't be because he is black, brown, red, yellow, or any other color. It will be because he makes good decisions and listens to good advisors.
As far as race, I wish it would be illegal to have any race-related organizations. Most of these organizations are race baiters anyways!

And I do believe Obama IS a good sound decision maker who takes the advice of others....
But because he happens to be black and can relate to many black folks in this country, I know he will undoubtedly deal with race issues in this country effectively and fairly.
He'd be in a position to do so more than any other president because of HIS race, not in spite of.
As much as Clinton seemed to sympathize with issues pertaining to minorities, he couldn't possibly fully relate and effectively do what needs to be done in office for minorities because, well, he IS NOT one.
I haven't a problem with race organizations as long as they operate by empowering their race, not tearing down their own or another.
NAACP is effective at empowering Blacks in this country, whether it is by information or actions.
KKK is well, ineffective, because not only do they operate out of pure hatred, but they ACT upon that hatred to the detriment and destruction of others outside of their race.
Now that's one race orgranization whose destruction is LONG overdue.
Let's not forget that Barak Obama is half white, what used to be referred to as a mulatto (not a derogatory term, in case you are wondering). He has no choice but to be fair and balanced when it comes to racial issues.

So the Hispanics won't get a fair shake until they have someone in the White House?
Maybe Obama will pick a Hispanic running mate. That would pretty much guarantee him the election. To have all the support he currently has, and to win over significant numbers of Latinos with a Hispanic running mate would put a definite whammy on any plans the Republicans have for keeping the White House. Plus, I think it would be cool! :) And if he picked a female Hispanic that would REALLY seal the deal!

So.......I take it that you wouldn't be against a White Entertainment TV Channel as long as it empowered the white race without tearing down other races?
You wouldn't be against a White Miss America pageant?
What if a political organization was set up to empower white people that wasn't tearing down other races?
Are you telling me that you would have no problem with this? If not, why is it fair game for one race, but not fair for other races?
It's my opinion that race organizations such as these are what is making our racial problems worse. They exist to keep race on the forefront of the American mindset.

Race has nothing to do with differences. The biggest difference between any of us is NOT race, it is culture. There is a "street" culture whether you're black or white. There are certain "church" cultures whether you're black or white. There are "business" cultures whether you're black or white. There is a political culture whether you're black or white. There is a "rich" culture whether you're black or white.
It is not color that separated us, it is culture. We unfortunately use color to accentuate those differences. Culture is FAR more powerful than color. :D

Again, Native indians are a MINORITY. Hispanics are a MINORITY. Asians are a MINORITY.
Yes, it is true. If organizations are raised up that supports White Power as Dave Chappelle tauted in his show, then it would be racist and all kinds of heck would ensue.
But that is because wherever there is a minority there is a MAJORITY.
Who is that majority? Sing it along with me....white people.
Wherever there is a minority representation, it is of the utmost necessity that the minority employ efforts to preserve their culture and make sure that their voice is heard and that they are properly considered and represented in goverment and society. I learned this in civics class in high school.
We can all co exist in school, workplace, church, etc and yet still hold to our cultures and racial identities. I say it is necessary to do so.
Lets look at Hispanics. When they are together they speak their language to each other. They cook dishes that are representative of their culture. They have holidays and festivities that celebrate them exclusively.
Yet, when they come into mainstream America, idealistically, they speak the American native language, they assimilate into American culture and do well.
If this is acceptable and celebrated in Hispanic culture, why is it feared and looked down upon in African American culture??????
What are we afraid of?
Whites are the majority not for long granted, but are so now. So they dont need organizations promoting or empowering them because they are already empowered and promoted the day they are born. Yes, white people do have an advantage over all others in this country BECAUSE they are the majority.
They have the best schools. They earn more than Blacks, no matter how educated a black person is. The White male being the highest earner around.
They still live in the best neighborhoods. They have the biggest religious organizations in the country. In which they are on the boards, trustees and leadership.
They have the money. It is true. I know some will say what I say is racist. It is not meant to be...it is fact.
I learned this in civics class too.
So minorities of all kinds have to go extra strides and thrive harder to be represented properly and to make it. That is a fact.
So to answer all your questions, white people have an advantage over miniorities thus they do NOT need special representation, (I am going there!) reparations or organizations to empower them.

Black people have a history and a culture that is uniquely our own. No other race or culture in THIS country was enslaved, tortured, imprisoned, lynched, families torn apart...all the while my ancestors helped build this country as we know it today.
Hispanics werent slaves. Asians weren slaves. Indians, they had this land stolen from them and some of them murdered, but as far as I know they werent slaves either. All the immigrants who migrate to America now, they havent been enslaved.
Yet we applaud those who come to this country and 'make it.' Well, a great part of that is due to the fact that they were sold the American dream...whereas when my ancestors were drug off the boats in chains after spending weeks or even months in the dungeons of boats that stole them, kidnapped them from their motherland.....
They werent sold a dream, but a nightmare!
I saw ths website called 'the African American Holocast.' I had never heard it called that...but that is what it was.
So your arguments comparing the trek of African Americans in this country to other minorities is ludicrous and preposterous.
There is a big, BIG difference between coming here of your own volition hoping and praying for a better life and being kidnapped, tortured, killed, etc. and made to serve a man who doesn't respect you or your women or children.
I wanna know how a hispanic would have handled seeing his wife raped and being impregnated by a white man...and there is nothing he could do about it. Then only to learn the woman you love is having that jackal's baby????
How willing would he be to serve this country and help masser with his empire then????
THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE!
No, I wont forget my heritage. I can't. It is a part of who I am. It helps me to understand why the effects of slavery is still being felt by EVERY black person in this country now in 2008.
Even if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Sorry...

No, Abby, I dont believe that. Especially here in N.O. cuz we be slammin in the kitchen! ; -)
As to your question of White Africans having exculsively white org in Africa, I say no, as long as those org are not KKK like. Meaning, they are not trying to kill Black Africans or discriminate against them. Or oppressing them.
If said White org are set up and thrive on violence and discrimination of any kids against Black Africans then I would have to say HECK NO< THEY GOTTA GO!!!!!!
Especially if the whites there are losing their culture or identities because they are the minority.
But we both know chances are that such a org in Africa, especially in South Africa, would be about discriminating against Black Africans...

Sorry...
I have said it before and I will say it again...
When the church repents of her racism, then the country will follow suit....
Keep saying it GBG, but your statements aren't going to make sense until you actually approach this topic calmly and logically. Right now it's just grandstanding.

Oh, I will readily agree with you there. Racism is way more prevalent and volatile (and violent) in Africa than it is here.
Huh?!?!?! :reaction

BTW My Irish family came here as immigrants and were discriminated against. My Italian family came here and THEY were discriminated against. They were all considered white, but because of color distinctions and not nationality distinction or cultural distinction they were some how the majority anyways...
BTW Chinese came here and THEY were discriminated against and for all practical purposes were slaves workin on the rail road all the live long day.

Oh please. Let's not have the persecution room spray here.
You speak of culture. That's not the issue here. Not at all. Nobody said anything about culture.
So, would you think it would be ok for me to arrive in Ethiopia with a 'White Pride' T-shirt on, since I'll be the minority in that country? Is that your excuse for me not having a reason to wear one in America?
I'm proud to be white. If I were born black, I'd be proud to be black. If I were hispanic, I'd be proud to be hispanic.
There's no crime in taking pride in who one is. But again, you give excuses for the minorities to be proud and claim it but tell me that I can't because I'm a white girl in a country where whites are the majority. Go figure.
Then don't claim your black pride on African soil. You'd be going against your own rules.
I'll be the one wearing the T-shirt instead, ok?

nothing. Where do you get that idea?
Whites are the majority not for long granted, but are so now. So they dont need organizations promoting or empowering them because they are already empowered and promoted the day they are born.
Please tell me how I am empowered?
Yes, white people do have an advantage over all others in this country BECAUSE they are the majority.
No SOME white people have advantages yet there are "minorities" that have advantages over many whites too
They have the best schools.
We do? Well if that is true then so do the Hispanics, Blacks and Asians that went to school with me.......hmmmmmm
They earn more than Blacks, no matter how educated a black person is.
I bet Asians per capita earn more than whites.....I know "minorities" that climbed the ladder faster than all the whites....because they were whites...have you ever looked to see who earned more blacks or hispanics? blacks or asians?
The White male being the highest earner around.
do you think there are more blacks on welfare and living in ghettos than whites? Do you think the trailer park white trash earns more than the college educated black man? How much do averages play into that statistic?
They still live in the best neighborhoods.
Not where I come from. Whites do NOT all live in the best neighbor hoods. They do not ALL have best schools and they are not ALL making more money
They have the money.
They have "the money"? I have no money honey and I am white. And while you read this you may realize and admit NOT all whites have all this but realize this that just because SOME whites have all this does NOT give me one shred of power. I know just as many minorities that own homes and went to good schools and are not living in bad areas that make good money as I do whites....and more so
It is true. I know some will say what I say is racist. It is not meant to be...it is fact.
It was a sweeping generalization
I learned this in civics class too.
must not have been a good school....you are not white right?
So minorities of all kinds have to go extra strides and thrive harder to be represented properly and to make it. That is a fact.
Then affirmative action does not work.
So to answer all your questions, white people have an advantage over miniorities thus they do NOT need special representation, (I am going there!) reparations or organizations to empower them.
No...SOME white people have an advantage over EVERYONE else including whites

Black people have a history and a culture that is uniquely our own. No other race or culture in THIS country was enslaved, tortured, imprisoned, lynched, families torn apart...all the while my ancestors helped build this country as we know it today.
Hispanics werent slaves. Asians weren slaves. Indians, they had this land stolen from them and some of them murdered, but as far as I know they werent slaves either. All the immigrants who migrate to America now, they havent been enslaved.
And neither have you. You have no idea anymore than I do what it's like to be a slave. Give me a break.
For thousands of years, white people served as slaves. Way longer than black people. Do I cry for my slaved ancestors? No. Why should I? That's in the past, and I choose to move forward, because continually crying about the past does nothing for me.
Yet we applaud those who come to this country and 'make it.' Well, a great part of that is due to the fact that they were sold the American dream...whereas when my ancestors were drug off the boats in chains after spending weeks or even months in the dungeons of boats that stole them, kidnapped them from their motherland.....
Your black brothers sold you to both white and black slave owners. Blame your own race, darlin.
They werent sold a dream, but a nightmare!
At the hands of their black brothers. Thank them, not the white man.
I saw ths website called 'the African American Holocast.' I had never heard it called that...but that is what it was.
So your arguments comparing the trek of African Americans in this country to other minorities is ludicrous and preposterous.
I know lots of African immigrants. I've went to school with several of them. They are confused by people like you. They don't get it. They wonder why you speak about the problems your race had so many decades ago when they continue to suffer in their country, thus the reason why they immigrated here. They say that you really don't have a right to complain because you just have no idea what true racial issues are. They live in countries where they are murdered by other black people for whatever reason their government wants to incite.
There is a big, BIG difference between coming here of your own volition hoping and praying for a better life and being kidnapped, tortured, killed, etc. and made to serve a man who doesn't respect you or your women or children.
And what exactly do you personally know about that? I have a feeling about the same as me, just a plain white girl.
I wanna know how a hispanic would have handled seeing his wife raped and being impregnated by a white man...and there is nothing he could do about it. Then only to learn the woman you love is having that jackal's baby????
Your anger issues need to be directed where they belong.
How willing would he be to serve this country and help masser with his empire then????

.
That is what this seems to be a, perpetuation of the anger...of something that happened a long time ago. We all agree it was a sad time in American History. We all agree it was wrong.....but it was NOT all whites doing it. The continued anger is a empowerment thing. It's a political thing. Men like Farrakhan would have few followers if not for the fact that white people exist to hate and he can make black people stay angry at something that did not happen to them. You don't see a whole grassroots movement and politics milking Japanese internment for all it is worth. I never see angry 15 year old japanese youth still angry over what happened.
But I blame black leadership for this. It's an empowerment took for them. It keeps THEM in power.

the church doesn't need to repent of racism...good grief. Individuals need to repent of their racism. This just sounds like people repeating the sound bytes of some else.
And the sad thing is anything can be twisted around into "racism" when it is really NOT. In other words the goal is not to fix racism but to make all whites feel guilty for things they did not do

It isn't exactly racially motivated--since they're the same race, but it's motivated by the same prejudicial premise. (One group perceives itself as superior to the other group to the extent that the inferior group is denounced, persecuted or eradicated.)
GBG has taken a soapbox stance as if she's talking to a bunch of racist idiots on this forum, and until she steps down and talks to us like the fellow Christian brothers and sisters we are, this conversation is going nowhere.

I agree that it's more percsecution than racism, but it's still nothing compared to anything she's ever experienced personally in this country. This country is still great, even for minorities. That's why they are still coming here!!
And as long as people of a minority group feel that they will never rise above 'the white man' (their words), they never will. They give white men power by making those statements.
There are lots of blacks and other minorities in positions of power. Those people get respect not because of their color, but because of the position they hold.
I am in a position of power at my job. There are a lot of American Indians that work there and I'm over several of them. I'm not over them because they are Indian and they don't respect me because I'm white.
When we start seeing each other as members of the human race and not the black or white race, we might get somewhere in this world.

This makes sense to me! Most races have a language that helps to identify their culture. The unique thing about America is that it is a blending of cultures. When the language barrier is taken away, the culture differences are more identified by skin color.
I can agree with an organization that help to preserve a culture of a group of people.
I find it interesting to think that groups formed to empower is OK for some races, but not other races! Isn't this racism?
Let's talk about the end game. At what point will a racial organization no longer be needed? When they are in power? When they control the money? When they take over the nice neighborhoods? When they take over as a majority? At this point would political organizations to empower the white race be OK?

The question was asked once about why having special events like Miss Black or Miss Latino contests when blacks and latinos are not only allowed INTO the same pagents as whites but win too.
This is not about making sure a black person or a latino wins...it's really segregation all over again...but if some whites decided to have a Miss White America everyone would go nuts over it.
Miss Black pagents are NOT empowering. They are NOT getting blacks more or better paying jobs. They are NOT getting them into better neighborhoods nor are they getting them better jobs. It's about racial, cultural pride really more than anything else.
But they are not called racists. If whites did the same thing they would be called racists
Martin Luther King's dream was for EQUALITY, not seperate but equal.
To that end all of these so called civil rights leaders who perpetuate the seperation of the races through special priveleges, organizations ,events, etc are counter productive.
It perpetuates the victim mentality.
