He is definitely from Promise Land. He was there and was a worship leader during the "toupee" revival as it was affectionately called. He has launched out on his own with music ministry. He is a really top notch guy from all I know.

True to everything above.

Believe he is headquartered in TN right now.

AMAZING praise and worship leader as well as gifted in personal prophetic gifts.

Was priviledged to spend some time with him last year at a conference in Austin.

You might want to ask CC1. He is very well versed on the Promiseland church and for a while it seemed that 'Rags' was based out of CC in Nashville. I heard him mention at one of PL services I watched over the net that they live in Nashville now and CC1 said once that they were suppose to base out of CC. Maybe that is it, but I do know he has 1-ness roots and still goes by them, it seems.

Yes, he's from Mississippi...went to JCM in the early '90s....sang with the Lanny Wolfe Singers...

He's a great guy. Even as a teenager, he had an anointing and was always known as a worshipper.

Ferd,

Personally the greatest thing wasn't his singing, great as it was. He just has a special anointing as a praise and worship leader to bring a congregation into an intense awareness of God's presence.

Hard to describe, just one of those "just have to experience it" things.

John Ragsdale does have Oneness Roots. His Dad pastored a church in Mississippi.

We visited them when I was a young child.

His dad was in the UPCI.

John Ragsdale was a worship pastor at Kenneth Phiilips church in Austin for a few years.

John is an awesome man of God.

My dad Prophecied over him as a young child.

So his mom tells the story.

That he would sing and minister to the nations.

*******************************************

He then prophecied over me and my wife earlier this year.

When he later asked me my name.

He got really excited.

He shared with his mom this story.

I told him the Lord works in those ways...

John's mom was my first dorm dean at PBI/JCM in the seventies. He preaches for us often, and is actually coming twice in the next month. He's awesome, singing and preaching and prophesying. Our church loves him and his sweet family!

He definitely has UPC roots, but ministers in more places than just oneness Pentecostal churches.

The bits and pieces about John Ragsdale on this thread are mostly correct.

-He was raised UPC and is the son of a former UPC minister.
-He went to Jcm.
-He "went charismatic" in the sense that many UPC people think of it.
-He spent about 7 years as an aissistant or associate pastor to Kenneth Phillipis at Promiseland Church in Austin. From about 1998 or 1999 until around three years ago when he moved to Nashville where he evangelizes from.

He often visits back to minister at KP's Promiseland church and KP has been trying to get him to come back full time.

John is married to a beautiful wife, Kristen, and has a couple of young boys.

John is one of the most talented individuals I have ever met. He sings great, preaches great, and married great!!!

It was John Ragsdale who "co-starred" with Randy Phillips on the praise and worship telecast "The Awakening" for several years that aired on TBN and INSP Christian television networks.

John ministers in many different churches, both Oneness and not.

I have always been impressed when I've heard John Ragsdale sing and minister. Isn't there a connection with him and Harold Ray Ragsdale aka Ray Stevens?

His web site says he believes that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God waiting to come back. So much for the oneness.

He ministered today at Champion Life Centre in Spring, TX. He is definitely an awesome evangelist.

I wish I could have seen him this morning, but it was just the 10AM service and I have obligations at ROL.

You must be joking about someone not being Oneness if they believe Jesus is sitting on the right hand of God, right?

Mr 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Lu 22:69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

Ac 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

Ac 7:56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

Ro 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Heb 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1Pe 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

That post you reference astonished me also. If Rags is a trinitarian for saying that then the Bible is triitarian because it says the same thing.

Of course that is one of those scriptures that many Oneness folks are uncomfortable with so in all fairness perhaps the poster was not familiar with it.

No I am familiar with the scripture, however based on what I read from his belief statement on his web site "He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from where he will come again" that he believes Jesus is literally sitting at the right hand of God. This is not what a typical oneness believer would state in his belief statement.

Now, I don't know him as many on here do so I can't say for sure, so I defer to those that do know him. It was simply an observation that may have been hasty on my part, but still..it seemed odd.

My blue eyes are about all I passed down to my daughter. This photo is untouched so you can see just how blue her eyes are when the light catches them.

To bring this back to John Ragsdale - when he ministered at my daughter's church he told her that her spirit reminded him a lot of his wife's. It made an impression with her.

.

Now you shouldn't say that is "all" you passed down to her.

She's beautiful and she looks so much like you around 1977.

I mean, not that you're not good lookin' now but we were ALL younger then.

I thought leading up to the reunion after seeing other JCM classmates' pictures of their kids that if you could get the kids together for a group photo, you'd swear it was us back on "The Farm."

He does through Jesus.

True, but it would be impossible for Jesus to sit at his own right hand!

God is a Spirit. Spirit's don't have right hands or left hands. The right hand of God is an anthropomorphism that signifies a position of strength and power. If you look up right hand in the OT as it is applies to God, you can see that more clearly.

Ex 15:6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

Ps 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Ps 89:13 Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

Mt 26:6 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
