I've always liked David & The Giants too. I actually remember when they really were "rockers" back in the early 70's.....they played at one of my high school proms one year! :D

Yes, that is one of the greatest songs. I played that for our chapel at school when I was like 12 or 13 years old.
I love David and the Giants. They even came to our UPC church way back in like 1983 or 84. Let me just say that they were not invited back. :bliss

I'm having flashbacks! ;-)
We traipsed all over LA, MS and AL to hear them in the late 70s! Saw them in Dallas once in the early 80s.
Wow, I feel old enough to need a nap after thinking about that!

I have a few of their albums...As far as solo songs go, I think I like "NOAH" followed by "stepping stone", but I also like for the rock songs..... "RU gonna stand up" and of course "I'm still rocking!"
I was at the very first concert where I first heard of David and the Giants in Jackson, Tennessee at Bemis Pentecostal church in the 1980's and they gave that guy known as former "little ricky" from the TV show "I love Lucy" or his real name...Keith Thibodeaux a drum solo...WOW....that is all I can say! That guy was awesome on the drums...I still remember that drum solo.
They also did Noah back then and when the lightning effects came over the speaker...they flashed the lights in the auditorium to it.
As far as the original recording of "I'm still rocking"....Kieth does an amazing drum solo on it near the end of the song. I was hoping they would have a drum solo in this video as well, but I guess not. Still it was amazing to see David play after all this time.

Great man - great spirit.
Could have become very well known and rich.
Just being a studio musician,
How is Rayburn and Clayburn? His brothers?

They are wonderful... really do not look a day older than they already did... same great spirit and just the same guys they have always been! We have plans to go see all of them in about a month. They live about 20 min from my step daughter and we try to get together every time we are in town.

I believe his brother Dan Huff is a producer in Nashville, Tn. He just finished working with a friend of mine, Jonathan Singleton, writer of Gary Allen's #1 Country hit "Watchin Airplanes".
Blessings!!!

Ok I gracefully will say I am wrong...I just talked with Tom and Tim... some of Twyla's immediate family and they said he DID own a production company but he is no longer involved in ownership... he is just in the production part now my bad.

They are awesome. Back in mid 1978 their mother called our house in Cincinnati, Ohio.
After my father John Eckstad had passed away in March 1978.
She had asked us and I took the call.
If my dad had finished his book on the Book of Revelations.
Years later....
I always wanted to let her know I did find a set of his studio audio tapes that were to be his book.
It is missing chapters 19-22.
Of which I hope to find one day....
I later met the 3 brothers and just had such a great respect for their humble yet great spirit.
They stayed true to themselves....
I thought so,I think this fellow Dan Huff produces Martina Mcbride.
I do not believe they are related....

I do not believe they are related....
No... the 3 are David, Rayborn and Clayborn... There is not a Dan as far as I am aware and I have spent the majority of my life around this family including dating Davids son for a while

You are right.
Dan Huff does have a brother named David Huff.
Who is a drummer.
Dann is a producer.
The David Huff of David and the Giants is David W Huff.

I like David and the Giants as well. I once googled them on the net and found a pre-Christian song they made that was a hit in England! And I noticed it was revamped as a Christian song on an album after they were saved.

Yeah,I have heard their pre-christian stuff as well.....they could have went a lot of places as far as the world and it's music goes, but I am glad they decided to give their music to the Lord and serve his purpose.
They were just as good as a lot of the pro bands of the1970's, but God had other plans for them and as a Holy Ghost filled Christian,I am glad he did!

You will never find any more guys that were real than David, Rayburn and Clayburn. Back when they first started singing in UPC churches (but were quickly called music of the Devil with record burning and all) we had them at the church I was at. I was priviledged to be quite close to them and they have always been real, kind and loving and serving God. You go David......
