Janes Earl Jones or Alexander Scorby, both have great voices! Go to your library and see if that have different version, listen to them and then choose the one you like.

Would you like me to hold an archival copy for you. The off-site storage fee will be waved as you are a brother in good standing in the AFF......MP3 would be a good medium.....:toofunny

I think Alexander Scourby is the best.

DON'T buy the James Earl Jones CD's unless you want to hear distracting music droning on in the background.

Has anyone heard about the one that is currently being recorded featuring a lot of different people? It's called, simply, The Bible. They read the entire Bible but depending on the voice is a certain character. Features a lot of Gospel singers and actors. I think if you are a fan of audio books, this might be one of the Bible that you might enjoy.

I have one narrated by Stephen Johnston, and sometimes they use other voices, and background sounds and music, it goes fast only 70 hrs, I timed myself once and it took around 95 hrs. It's good for books like Chronicles, some of those names are hard to pronounce, but this guy does it quickly and clearly, I guess that's why they hired him.

This is what I don't want. I would be listening to the background instead of the bible reading. lol

Yes...that is it. If I was to get an audio version of the Bible, I would probably get this....for no other purpose than there is a variety of voices. I could not imagine hearing the same voice over and over and over again.

I recommend Faith Comes by Hearing (http://www.faithcomesbyhearing.com/). They have the standard recording, plus offer a fully dramatized set (word-for-word, but with sound effects, different voices, etc.). They also offer many different translations. Furthermore, they have a complete lifetime warranty.

THE finest I've come accross is Max McLean at www.listenersbible.com
He quotes the KJV, ESV, and the NIV. He's simply amazing. I've heard him in person and he's even better. He offers MP3 files and CDs. IMO, the best there is. He also reads famous sermons and the wonderful Valley of Vision. And no I'm not his brother.

i have a dramatized kjv narrated by scourby. i thought it was good until i bought the bible experience. it's incredible!!!!!!!
my son (age 5) comes and stands close, or brings his toys into the room to listen. it's wonderful.
sorry to say, but i've never really enjoyed reading revelations.... but listening to this cd makes me cry (and speak in tongues) every time i listen. it's powerful.
the old testament is coming out this fall. yeah!!!!!!!!! i can't wait....
