I was checking my mail and another resident told me that she was getting hers the other night and a snake came slithering in...scared her to death. I saw a Black Widow spider last year.

Oh wow! I know the big thing out here right now in our area is someone said they saw literally a dozen of the brown recluse spiders in her garage! Thats too many of those in one small place for me!!!! I found out because the animal control was at her house and she had been having issues w her dog. I asked and she said they were checking and having a termite control company evaluate the whole house to see why so many in one house... weird I thought.. but snakes and black widows are a no go for me nope!! EWWWW

Y'all are sissies...........:D
I can deal with snakes better than I can black widows and brown recluses.
I am no longer allergic to scorpion bites as we use to have a big problem.
One way to get rid of snakes is to sprinkle moth crystals around your yard. Or get a cat.

I am watching fox4 news here right now... They are actually showing a piece on this right now. They were first found in Houston 6 yrs ago and since then they have been found in 6 surrounding counties. They swarm and short electrical equipment because of the amounts of them. The man who they have received the Rasberry name from is a Mr. Rasberry from houston and he said that you can exterminate them by the thousands, millions even billions.. and it will help.. but the problem is they are so tiny and so many you can never get totally rid of every one of them. And none of the over the counter products work to get rid of them.. joy joy

Hope they are not as bad as fire ants, because they should do well with all the fire ant food for them to eat.

I don't live in Texas, but in Georgia. But I unfortunately see Black Widows all the time. They particular like the underside of one of our rain-catcher-thingys under one of our gutter spouts. I hate it when I have to move it to do the weed-eating!

They had an article in today's paper that they think the Rasberry ants are on their way to Beaumont.
Not good!
Cinnamon is the remedy for ants. It is amazing! Get a mega container at Costco and sprinkle around the ants. The cinnamon may not kill all of the ants, but those critters will run. Most pests disappear with the use of cinnamon.
Also, cinnamon is great for diabeties which is also considered a pest by some of us. :)

I ran by our local nursery today to pick up a couple of bottles of Malathion. They told me they have had the Raspberry ants for years and they don't bother anything. They also said they don't have fire ants. :thumbsup
They have only had a problem with the Raspberry Ants getting into their candy dish once in a while, but that's it. I told her that candy is bad, anyway! J/K! lol
I think I'd rather have them than Fire Ants any day. Those things can sting!
