I just received a PM that Elder Boots Campbell has passed away. It is believed he died from heart trouble, but no one is certain because he didn't go to doctors. He is the father of Bruce Campbell, who also died a good while back. Keep this family in your prayers.

I will miss the Elder! and I will miss his flapjacks! We had breakfast with him and his precious wife many times! Elder Boots Campbell could tell some stories now! Well, no more heartache for him. He has had so much of it in the last few years....
There will be no sorrow there
No more burdens to bear
No more sickness no more pain
No more heart ache over there

what a day, a glorious day that will be!

True. Him and Sister Campbell could make the BEST pies I have ever eaten!!! Yummmy! I wonder if they passed the recipe on to BJ or Elizabeth? It would be a shame to see their secret recipe die with the Elder.

Elizabeth can cook! In fact, that whole family could cook great! And yes, those pies were delicious... I do miss that family!

I've been thinking about Elder Boots and he was really quite the character. He had a very animated way of preaching. I remember this one service where he walked around the church, pretending to be a roving reporter, asking people all these questions. Anyway, I was sitting in the back row of the church for this particular service, and he started talking about doing less than we could do for God. He was talking about being a full time Christian. He walked up behind me and I just knew he was gonna reach around and put that mic in my face. LOL! He asked me what would happen to someone who was a part time Christian and I answered, "Part time pay?" :lol The pastor, his son, immediately blurted out one of those buzzer sounds to indicate I had given the wrong answer! Hehehehehe! It was all done in fun, of course! That was a good service. I'm gonna miss him.

Another one of the Weedpatch Pioneers passes.

My family knew them well. I was born in Campbell camp.

Oh yes, I remember the roving reporter... And remember the trip reports? Anytime anyone went anywhere, if he lead service, he went around getting trip reports.... God bless that family!:tissue
