Not sure your standards requirement, but I go to an awesome church. Pastor Jeff Hennigan and wife Miquell (Mangun). We are about 20 min. north of Dallas in Plano. Progressive for sure, though. We just had the Clark Brothers in service this morning. They were fantastic.

DerrickS,
Tell us more about yoru church. When did Jeff take over the pastorate from Dan Rigdon?
I see on your website that you have two Sunday Worship services. Are these two seperate services for space reasons?
Your church website needs a photo section so we can "judge" that standard!!!! LOL!!!

LOL ;) Yeah - Jeff took over more than a year ago, I believe. We left for a bit to help Kevin Burgess start a church a few years ago, so I wasn't there during the transition. But I had been at ALC since the late 80s prior to that.
I will say this -- if you need to look at photos, I think it's a safe bet we won't meet your dress standards. ;) We have a pretty diverse mix.
Wouldn't have it any other way....
God bless!

There is over 58 Apostolic Churches in the Dallas area. You can order it up your way...or you can start your own work...whatever...

DerrickS,
Uh.......I am one of those that "went charismatic" a long time ago. I just wanted to see photos to see how this church fits in the UPC spectrum.

I apologize for being presumptuous. Your mention of standards requirements in your initial post, plus a photo request made me draw that (incorrect) conclusion. I wasn't trying to be rude, I just wanted to be straightforward about it.
Would love to have you up for a visit. We are having powerful moves of God, and this is one of the most exciting times we have experienced in the church.
We recently went to two services because we were running out of room, and it is really going well.
Again - didn't mean to offend.

CC1 is VERY STRICT. There are very few who can meet up to his standards. He and Wholehearted are very tight.:toofunny

We go to an awesome church too... www.northcities.org... we are a pretty conservative church. Awesome growing place I think you would enjoy if you are in our area. We have plenty of services so if you would also like to visit services of different ethnicities we have those as well.. we currently house 4 daughter works also.
Derrick... been to your church many times and have some very dear friends who attend there... As for KB... he is pretty much related and they are indeed an awesome family. My mom grew up with his mother in law and his wife and SIL and me grew up together. As a matter of fact we are why they moved to Tx.. to be closer to us. Love em to pieces!

I go to The Pentecostals of Arlington. Pastored by Bro. Jonathan Stringfellow, if you are looking for a church in the area, you owe it to yourself to visit. Trust me. Amazing.
Just off of I-30 and Cooper, about a mile from where the new Cowboys stadium is going up.

Ok, so.... I'm guessing we either know each other, or should by this point. ;) I am long time friends with KB's brother-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, etc. Great family, great people.

Nope I seriously doubt we know each other. I havent been to that church in probably 15 yrs (said I have been didnt say when LOL sorry about that) the people I know there are the oldies... I was a regular around there back when Mangun was there and then until I was out of high school.
Ashton and my oldest son were born weeks apart and we are in pretty consistant contact with them... a little less now since my mother passed away a yr ago... but I talk to LP and LB pretty often as well as their parents.. dont know Ls hubby too well... and know K better than he knows me LOL. Kinda funny but I have barely talked to him but they always are talking about him.. he also was preaching a lot in the church I grew up in... during the time our pastor was unable to handle the services.. and then he has just been a part of our extended family for a long time... Love them...

Your church has a nice website and they keep it updated which is something that you don't see often. It looks like a great church too...

Ahh. I see. I have been at ALC since '87, but I was a youngster. I was in quizzing with LP, and was good friends with her since she first starting coming. Anyway.... looks like I'm hijacking the thread a bit.... ;)

No more of these in KENTUCKY, but saw documentary a couple of weeks ago about one that USED to be in Scottsdale? Alabama. The Pastor tried to kill his wife by holding a gun to her head and having her stick her hand into the "pit". WEELLL, she fooled HIM! She had been bitten so many times that apparently there was an amount of "immunity". She lived....she told....he's in jail now!
