I don't think that CPS and the courts handled this right either
however, I don't believe all those people who escaped this group are lying either. All those young boys who were kicked out of this group are lying?
They should be able to live how they want as long as they are not molesting children. that's a law that ALL of society should have to live by no exceptions for the religion

So we are all smarter on legal issues than two sets of seasoned judges?

Of course, but that isn't saying much really.

Judges are appointed in Texas. That should tell you something.

What? That fact speaks more about those that appointed and confirmed than it does about the judges themselves....until we get to see the judgements themselves, which far to often is only on the big issues. How much do you know about their judgements on items that didn't make headline news? Did they judge right in those cases? It's the same way here in Missouri, but we do get to vote whether they get to stay behind the bench after awhile. Usually I just vote to fire them do to insufficent information of their rulings.

Excuse my mis-information. Judges are elected in Texas except at the Federal level. I probably voted for some of them...........:tissue

Do the FLDS women remind anyone else of Stepford Wives? Maybe it's just me.

Now I'm impressed, pastor of multiple churches, owner of multiple businesses, possessor of multiple degrees, spokesperson for millions of Branhamites, and now interstate legal expert to boot.

Just curious good doctor if the title of this thread were a Freudian slip.
Did you mean the polygamist's children are going home?
Or it is ok for children to be polygamists?

I am interested in seeing if they have uncovered photos of some of the other men of that sect in full on lip locks with 12-14 year old girls (like they did with Jeffers in the last day or two).
I have mixed feelings about this whole situation...a personal one and a legal one. Legally speaking...there was only an assumption made with no physical proof. So, in that case, it is the right decision. However, if the evidence comes in that there are underage girls being selected to marry the other men for their perverse acts...then go after the MEN! Those FLDS women are so brainwashed and naive themselves to think any better. The men in those sects know EXACTLY what is going on.

And the women don't? If the men are guilty then the women are too. Who do you think raises the boys that become the men in the FLDS?

The MEN! Most of the women are brainwashed from the womb to think this is NATURAL. If you were born and raised in that compound and your world consisted of only what was in that compound...you would know no difference. The teaching is very sick.

Men are just as brainwashed as the women. The leadership knows exactly what is going on. It is very difficult for men to come out of cults and admit that they were wrong. Some of them believe so strongly and then it is very humbling for them to admit they were brainwashed. To go back to a church takes along time and a lot of healing for most men.

According to their stories.. and I have done my research on the matter.. Brigham Young swore 12 men to the job of "keeping plural marriage on the earth and NEVER letting it die"
Lets suppose the doctrine of Jesus name Baptism is almost extinct and one of the Fathers of our faith pulled 12 of us to his side and said "Don't ever let this message leave the earth" we would all of a sudden become overwhelmed with the passion of keeping it alive in our children
These people on these compounds are the direct descendent's of those 12 men.. and they firmly no matter what we think believe that they are being true to their religion...

You keep blaming the men, as if the men have some secret conspiracy to keep the women down or something. They ALL believe this junk, SoCal. The women are just as much to blame as the men are. This is a case of everyone being brainwashed, not men brainwashing women. They are all deceived and in error.

RICO - error... a big word because according to the majority of Christians you and I are in error for our baptism for our doctrines...... and yet you don't want the government being able to touch your children because your in error...
This is America, we have the right to be in error

Ok in light of what just happened this afternoon... all of the children being released except for 1 16 yr old girl who is the daughter of Warren Jeffs and being released to the custody of her mother and the fact that they have proved sexual abuse on this one... my first thought when all of this began is coming to mind again... This all happened 2 days after Warren Jeffs ex wifes book was released. I dont know maybe someone needs to send the black chopper posse to Dallas but I am wondering if she (ex wife) had anything to do with all of this..
Do yall all think I am silly in thinking this or has it crossed anyone else mind?

I wouldn't bring "God" into it (unfortunately) and the "SUPREME COURT" was never involved. A local district judge - the one on the very first tier of the hearings and appeals process sent the kids back "home."
You're not shopping for a child bride are ya, DV?
