Yup...flopping. Apparently the NBA has decided to start fining players that FLOP....FLOPPING? What is FLOPPING you ask? That is when an NBA players falls down intentionally or takes a dive to make it seem like someone pushed him or fouled him....good grief.

Flopping is part of basketball. Always has been.
Its just a way of "selling" the foul .
Hard to start punishing for it now, especially by fining them.
If anything, just give the person a technical foul and leave it at that.

They don't call it the Devak flop for nothing. My Son played post this year for the first time and learning the flop is part of the game.

Can the officials tell the difference between a real knock-down and a flop? If so, why a fine and not a foul? If no, then who are they going to fine?
I know Dirk Nowitski is not a good flopper. It's usually pretty obvious when he does it.

Naturally, the ones who keep fouling out of the game are the ones who complain most about floppers.
