Phelps set a world record in his first event of the U.S. Olympic swimming trials, touching just ahead of Ryan Lochte to win the 400-meter individual medley in 4 minutes, 5.25 seconds Sunday night.

Wearing the high-tech Speedo LZR Racer, Phelps beat his own mark of 4:06.22, set at last year’s world championships in Australia when he turned in one of the greatest performances in swimming history with seven gold medals.

He is actually expected to qualify in 8 events. Did you also see that his former training partner broke the womens world record in the same event just a short time after he did?

I must say that I'm extremely happy with my new swimsuit. I had to take some time off from mowing and washing my truck yesterday to run down to the Qwest center to set the record.

It was great tho, since I live here now, I was home by dinner time.

Every time I swim, I have this overwhelming urge to pee immediately. I can't imagine having that happen in this thing!!

Rico, a friend of our had a sign up by her pool. It said, "I don't swim in your toilet. Please don't pee in my pool".

Margie look what you did. You made it so Sister Alvear does not want to go swimming. You should be ashamed of yourself.

When I read the sports page regarding the swimming records I just knew our own Michael Phelps had been holding out on us.
He's famous and never shared this with us. He should show us his awards.

Renda does not need prayer! She just needs............................................. A man!

Do we have a smiley for hanging your head and being humbled? that's what I need. I'm sorry, Sis. Alvear. But listen, if you do decide to go swimming, I promise there will be no accidents :)
