It rained anywhere from 4-8 inches of rain last night (depending on whose rain guage you look at).

Look at what a mess it left us....

(this is the horse's pasture! I think they'll have to stay in the barn for awhile)

(we were supposed to have fireworks tonight. The Swanton High School Band was going to sell things from this concession stand. Ummmm, I don't think so now!)

(these boys were funny when I took this picture. They noticed me taking it and shouted out to me, "Lady, please don't call the police on us. We're just having some fun." I told them I wouldn't as long as they stayed clear of the creek. See the fence in the background? the creek is on the other side of that yet. But it runs so fast when it's flooded over that it's unsafe for the kids to be near it)

They were having a blast, Ron. Laughing and giggling and carrying on.

I don't even want to think about what kinds of nasty things are in that water tho. EWWWWWWWWW

I found it amazing today that I had not seen even one mosquito up till now this summer. Until today.

Now they are big as B-57 bombers and just as lethal!

How in the world did they grow that fast???
