I season and dredge mine in flour, spray it with vegetable spray and bake it. Very good and crispy - although - I pull the skin off and don't eat it. My husband says I'm wasting the best part. lol I said, "Well, you eat it then!" :killinme

IN my kitchen.
I used milk and egg, flour seasoned with garlic salt and Lawry's season salt.
I skin my chicken (raised too many of them to eat the skin...eeewwwww)then I dip it in the egg and milk mixture then dip it in the seasoned flour and repeat the process then put it in a deep fryer with the setting at about 400 and then fry it for about 20-30 minutes and take it out and let it drain on paper towels and cover it with a lid.
UUUmmmmmm goooooood at least that's what I'm told.

Hey Scott,
As part of what can only be called my Schizophrenic existence (no insult meant to the schizo's out there.) (None taken.) Aside from the Apostolic Faith brethren, mostly ultra cons, I ALSO run with a pretty intellectual group of writers and directors in the the film industry as well as their incredibly OUT there brainiac adult children who tend toward the various fields of science, politics and symphonic arts....They also tend to be pretty much Orthodox Kosher Keepers, BUT we all have found that there is one restaraunt in the LA area that makes them kind of go on urlaub from the Kosher strictures if just for the night, it is the following...
Roscoes Chicken and Waffles
I tried to cut and paste the web site however ***I**** am NOT a braniac and am in fact technically challenged! But if you ever get out there you HAVE to get there one night at least!!!! Its not exactly a dive, but its certainly no Trader Vics either.
Talk about comfort food! Amazing! And about a year ago I was talking to Brother Jonathon Alvear at a Cracker Barrel in Sulphur, Louisiana, and I was telling him about this restaraunt that served the Chicken and Waffles, and this couple at the next table leaned over and interrupted to ask "Are you talking about Roscoes???!!!!" THEY had heard about it and were planning on making it one of their MUST do things when they went out to the West Coast on their vacation.
I understand from other friends in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area that THEY have a restaraunt along the same idea there but cant recall the name of it.
Any way the chicken isnt exactly fried, more of what they used to call Broasted I think. But WOW! And all the sides, home made potato salad, sweet potato pie, green beans, almost the kind of side dishes served in a barbeque joint. Next time you are out in the LA area you just HAVE to do Roscoes, and maybe you will see ME there!

Thanks, Colonel Sanders! :ursofunny I am sure your chicken is finger licking good! Mmmm mmmm!
My Mama Nell made the best fried chicken and cat-head biscuits I have ever eaten! She would take a paper bag and fill it with flour and special seasoning (heehee) and place her chicken in the bag and shake it up! What came out of that bag was sprinkled with love and the makings of the best tasting chicken in Texas!
I asked her one time why her chicken was the best and she said, "You have to cook the chicken on low and only flip it once on each side".
I sure wish I could sit down with her once again and share a plate of her fried chicken.

The chicken at the Bavarian Inn at Frankenmuth, Michigan is pretty good stuff.
And at the Barn Restaurant at Sauder's Museum in Archbold, Ohio they make fried chicken worth dying for.
We have a restaurant/bar/grill here called the Kold Keg that makes awesome broasted chicken. absolutely the best of anyone!

i will be right over and we can fry it up together.
i hate eating fried chicken from any other place than home. I had it a few times and it was not done. I am almost to the point I do not want it on the bone any more. I am getting really picky about my chicken. I have to free range and organic any more. The rest is just tastless.

On Mill St downtown Lewisville Tx, the old Veranda which is now called Tierney's. We had the best chicken I have tasted in Tx... potato chip chicken! It was not fried hard... crispy, delicious! In fact, I don't usually eat fried chicken. I ordered a chicken avocado salad... the chicken covered the top of the salad... cilantro dressing...lite potato chip dipped chicken.... My dear husband ordered the same w/ vegetables... Finger lickin good!!!Oh yes, probably no calories!! :roseglasses

As a married southern man Bro. Scott, you should know that the only right answer is your wife's kitchen. :tease
Seriously though, my momma makes good fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits, but I never bothered to learn how. :(
