Because states license individuals, it is up to the state to determine the law. Colorado just passed a law that makes it a felony to advertise, communicate, or represent any credential that one has not been licensed for, be it social workers, physicians, etc.

I guess some may feel that what they actually have to say won't gain respect on it's own merit.

Imagine walking into a room at the doctors office and seeing his name on a diploma as a veternarian. He was wearing cowboy boots when he walked into the room. I must have had a strange look on my face, because he said I really am a doctor........he showed me his MD diploma, he was in fact both a vet and an MD. I said I don't care, you are not examining me. I left and waited until my doctor got back from vacation.

Our loan payment is one half of our house payment, which makes sense since our student loan total is almost exactly half of our mortgage.

It really is against the law to put credentials behind your name without having earned them. I think is strange that Mr. Vaughn was checked up on and so vehemently attacked when other, considered reputable, posters have done the same and continue to do the same with no admonishment.

Just my thoughts on this matter.

Most state boards of nursing have regulations about the use of the title "nurse". As such, we were only allowed to refer to ourselves as "nursing students" when we were in school because "student nurse" would have implied we already held a nursing license and were pursuing a higher level of nursing.

Well THAT is certainly interesting....would that go for self appointed REVERENDS too? Then again who determines who is actually a minister? The state? Some denomination??? Some college or government board???? Boy can I see that getting into some uncharted waters!
