We are having dinner tonight with the Crumpacker's and also I think Jerry & Vicky Richardson, who happen to be in Nairobi for a conference they're having starting Wednesday. Eddie knows the Richardsons because they're from TN, and I think she's actually from Jackson where we live. We've never met the Crumpacker's, but I've talked to him by email and phone. It will be good to be with some more missionaries!
Anyone know these people?

Yes, I know Bro and Sis Richardson. They are GREAT people! Lots of fun and LOVE Africa! They are the Regional Directors for the Continent. You will have a wonderful time with them. I don't know the Crumpacker's personally, but, I have only heard good things about them.

We supported Jerry Richardson's parents when they were in Africa, now we support his son, Christopher, who is in Madagascar.
Great people!

Sherri, I was out cutting my grass when it hit me that my pastor just flew over to Kenya to speak at the Missions conference that the Richardsons are there for....Duh. Maybe you'll get to meet him as well.
I emailed the Crumpackers when I saw this thread and told them to be sure and lead Sherri To the Lord and pray that bobbed hair / makeup demon out of her.
I am eagerly awaiting a good report of full conversion!

Yes, I know Bro. & Sis. Richardson well. They have visited in our home, we attended and worked camps together. My dad along with Bill Luther went to Madagascar for a missions trip while they were there. Sweet, funny, kind, wonderful folks....TN folks!!

Well we actually met the Crumpackers, Richardsons and the Robertsons - who are in Tanzania - for dinner and then we all went to the Crumpacker's house for a few hours of fellowship. It was really fun and we knew so many people in common! I had not seen Jerry & Vickie Richardson since the early 80's, so it was good to reconnect with them again. The other two couples were very sweet too, and we had a good time visiting, and Sis. Crumpacker has a great gift f hospitality. The conference starts tomorrow morning, so they had several more missionaries coming in today.
T Stew - I did tell them that I know you (sort of), but I didn't see your posts until just now. We talked about Fassama and your family, as well as Eddie's.
Haddock--they also were talking about the trip you referenced with your dad and Bro. Luther. I don't think Bill L. ever fully recovered from all that strange food!!
CC1 - They didn't even act like we were unsaved. How about that????

I'm glad you were able to connect with them. It was also good to read the progress reports on the other thread.
God Bless

Dad never got over the experience of being on the mission field and preaching there. It was life changing for him - truly a wonderful experience for him.

I meant to ask you Sherri, if you guys were having a great time? It sounds like so much fun. I've never been on a missions trip out of the country, but I've heard wonderful stories! Hopefully it's everything you prayed it would be and more!

Thanks, GA. We are actually in Amsterdam waiting to fly out of here and head to Memphis, through Detroit. It will be a very long day. But the trip was amazing - spiritually the most productive one we've ever had. I wanted to cry when we left our pastors in Kenya; I love them all so much! I can hardly wait to come back; I hope we get to in 2009.

Sending up some prayers that all will go okay...I hate long days that involve flying...it's like they never end and I never get any rest!
