View Full Version : A Great Sadness

There is a great sadness in my heart. All those souls wandering in the darkness, without the knowledge that there is hope. Did I walk past one today? Would someone think I was crazy if I asked them if they have heard about Jesus? So many look so tired and hurried as they walk through life. Would they respond if I asked them do you know Jesus?
Is that what I look like when I walk through this world? Can anyone tell that I know Jesus? Do the cares of life wear on my soul and show on my face? Or does Jesus shine through with His light?
Lord let YOU shine through me everyday, as I walk through this life. Let others see that there is hope and light in this great darkness.

I seriously have started thinking about His light shining in us. Should christians have something showing the world that we are different? When someone sees us shouldn't Him on the inside show on the outside? I am not talking about the way we do our hair or what we wear or don't wear. Are we happy? Do we long to tell EVERYONE about JESUS?
Remember when you got the Holy Ghost how you couldn't wait to share that with others?
Does it go away? Is it getting dimmer? Or does it shine forth? Are we walking in the flesh or are we walking in the Spirit? Maybe these aren't questions for a forum, maybe I just need to fast and pray more. But I would like for y'all to know, I will be in prayer for you.

Jesus said that not everyone who calls Him "Lord" would enter into heaven, but only those who do the will of His Father. And there are untold millions today who merely warm the pew on Sunday...we clap at our standards and condemn those that have none yet the world rushes to hell at an alarming speed...
I too am sad...

It is actually because of my brother and SIL, you and your family, Sherri & Eddie, Jeanie & Keith, MOW, and others that have made me start thinking on this. I live in a small town with a lot of churches, but so many seem to be burdened down with life.

I think as Christians we should be the ones at work that everyone talks about how pleasant they are to work with.
We should be the ones smiling at strangers, holding the door for them or offering to let that person that only has one item in front of us at the check out counter.
What a way to strike up a conversation!

I agree, I saw a lady one day at the grocery store that looked so tired. I told her, you are so pretty. The biggest smile came over her face. She said thank you, that just made my day.
We just never know what a kind word or smile will do for others.
