View Full Version : Pain In My Left Side
Gang, I need to ask y'all to agree with me in prayer over something. The last three or four days I have had this pain in my lower left abdomen area. It has been steadily getting worse. Right now the last thing we need is for me to end up laid up in a hospital bed for any length of time. So, I am believing God for a healing of whatever is causing this pain. I don't know if maybe I pulled a muscle in that area or what, but the pain is getting sharper by the day. Your prayers would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, this said pain on the right side.
might be your gall bladder..........
A friend of mine has trouble with her gall bladder. She says it makes her have to go to the bathroom a lot. I don't know what all the symptoms are of a bad gall bladder. I know I recently quit drinking kool-aid. Could the absence of so much sugar going into my system cause something like this? You know, the body finding a way to fight back because it's not getting all the sugar it craves?

Hey Buddy,
I'm so sorry to hear that you're hurting like that. However, if it's in your left side, it wouldn't be your gallbladder. That's on the right and when mine used to flare up, it would make me sick to my stomach. I'm honestly not sure what it could be on the left side, unless possibly something with your intestinal tract. I know it runs around in the middle and toward the left. I'm just not sure. Please know that I am sincerely praying for the healing virtue of the Lord to flow throughout your body right now and touch you, as only He can. Please keep us posted as to how you're doing.
Praying Rico.

Thanks. I have also been wondering if maybe I am not backed up a little bit. I haven't had any trouble with going to the bathroom or anything, but maybe my digestion is starting to slow down or something, and it isn't fast enough to deal with the amount of food I eat? :D I am totally guessing, as you can tell.
Praying Rico.

For now I am taking it to Doctor Jesus. It's not so bad a pain that I can't get around.

Been there done that, bought the t-shirt.
If it is, you need to drink plenty of fluids to keep the plumbing flushed so to speak.

My first thought was that it may be a kidney stone. Praying!
Wouldn't a kidney stone hurt more on my back area than my abdomen?

It's according to where the stone is........it will only get worse if that's it.

Rico,
I'll add you to my prayer list. Keep us updated, OK?
If you haven't done a body cleanse or fast in a while, you may want to consider doing one. The toxins that build up in your lower intestines and colon need to be flushed regularly (pun intended).
PM suggested drinking water, which was a great suggestion! Dehydration would differently cause your "plumbing" to slow down.

I am drinking some water as we speak. Plus, I took some ex-lax, in case this is just a case of being backed up. I hope that's all it is. I realized that I haven't been drinking much water the last few days. It's been mostly coffee in the morning and milk throughout the day. I've already downed one glass of water and am working on the second one. Look out when that ex-lax kicks in!!! :D

Could be your appendix. If you had them out, it could be a build up of scar tissue. You will know soon by your inability to go, and inability to eat.
If it is on your left toward the front, I would say appendix moreso than kidney stone.

The appendix is on the right side, although the pain could be diffuse.

I used to work in an ER. I would guess that 90% of these type pains turn out to be digestion related. I think you are doing the right thing with the water and laxative. You might consider cutting off food for next day or so and even increasing the water/clear fluids. Intestional contractions can be VERY painful. If it is a muscle pain, you might try some over the counter motrin.

You will most certainly have lower dextro-sinistral pain with appendix but he said it is getting worse over a period of 3 days? You are correct about the anatomy, I could have sworn it was on the left....good call.

Judging by the pic you posted, I would say this pain is right about where that curve in the intestine is, right next to the stomach. Maybe something is having trouble making that curve. I guess this means I am full of........................well, have an abundance of.................................well, you get the picture! :lol

I stayed at a church here during Katrina and the church that my wife and I were in suffered 1.2 Million Dollars worth of damage. It was the most amazing and destructive thing I've ever witnessed first hand in my life. I'm concerned, based on your forecasts, that you may be facing something very similar. The President may need to go ahead and put FEMA on alert. You may need assistance when all of the waves die down, the winds cease to blow, the thunder stops it's crashing and the mud settles down... Whatever you do, watch out for floating objects... Can be very hazardous!
