Oh, this would be really hard for me to narrow down, for several years now it would probably be "I don't want to be" by Gavin DeGraw, but lately it has been more "In Repair" by John Mayer.
And go ahead and laugh but "I made it through the rain" by Barry Manilow still makes me cry when I hear it. So there. :bigbaby

My phsycologist told me I am episodial manic depressive. Meaning my emotions are like a roller coaster, up and down, but that they last for a few hours at the most and never really peak or bottom out. I feel elated then crash into a depression, then quickly bouce back.

I try that with my Teen and 'tween' it doesn't work. So I get them back by singing and dancin' my "goove" in the car... especially when we are pulling onto the school campus...
it is also relatively refreshing to ask their friends, when they come over to refer to me as, "Empress"... there is some payback there
And their friends must not be to offended, because we have become a pretty popular house!

"Here She is, Miss America":ursofunny I really am kidding...
Seriously, a song that Amy Grant recorded a long time ago, "Father's Eyes".
Lyrics
I may not be every mothers dream for her little girl,
And my face may not grace the mind of everyone in the world.
But thats all right, as long as I can have one wish I pray:
When people look inside my life, I want to hear them say,
Shes got her fathers eyes,
Her fathers eyes;
Eyes that find the good in things,
When good is not around;
Eyes that find the source of help,
When help just cant be found;
Eyes full of compassion,
Seeing every pain;
Knowing what youre going through
And feeling it the same.
Just like my fathers eyes,
My fathers eyes,
My fathers eyes,
Just like my fathers eyes.
And on that day when we will pay for all the deeds we have done,
Good and bad theyll all be had to see by everyone.
And when youre called to stand and tell just what you saw in me,
More than anything I know, I want your words to be,
She had her fathers eyes,
Her fathers eyes;
Eyes that found the good in things,
When good was not around;
Eyes that found the source of help,
When help would not be found;
Eyes full of compassion,
Seeing every pain;
Knowing what youre going through,
And feeling it the same.
Just like my fathers eyes,
My fathers eyes,
My fathers eyes,
Just like my fathers eyes.
My fathers eyes,
My fathers eyes,
Just like my fathers eyes.

I think one of oursongs would have to be the theme from The Monkeys
Here we come, walkin'
Down the street.
We get the funniest looks from
Ev'ry one we meet.
Hey, hey, we're the Monkees
And people say we monkey around.
But we're too busy singing
To put anybody down.
We go wherever we want to,
do what we like to do
We don't have time to get restless,
There's always something new.
Hey, hey, we're the Monkees
And people say we monkey around.
But we're too busy singing
To put anybody down.
We're just tryin' to be friendly,
Come and watch us sing and play,
We're the young gneration,
And we've got something to say.
Any time, Or anywhere,
Just look over your shoulder
Guess who'll be standing there
Hey, hey, we're the Monkees
And people say we monkey around.
But we're too busy singing
To put anybody down.
Another would be 'Walking on Sunshine' by Katrina and the Waves
and maybe 'The Pirates who don't do anything' by Veggie Tales.

another might be
Bob Carlisle's song
On my knees
Stand, with all my might and still I seem to fall I try to walk before
I even crawl ohh it seems im like a child in me again a helpless heart
a broken man.
Strength, is something that’s so very hard to find but still I know the
truth it must be blind so I sacrifice my heart to god in prayer lay my
weakness down and I’ll find you there.
I can stand tall
On my knees, I can see forever, on my knees, I can face it all,
I feel like I can climb a mountain cause on my knees the worlds a
little smaller and I stand taller on my knees.
See a man in a garden long ago he went along as the weight of sins
unseen and lies unknown came to rest upon his weary shoulders he
knew my name he took my pain
so I can stand tall
On my knees I can see forever on my knees I can face it all
I feel like I can climb a mountain cause on my knees the worlds
a little smaller and I stand taller on my knees.
There’s a piece that shadows anything I know I lay down every
burden and im free
I can stand tall
on my knees I can see forever on my knees I can face it all
I feel like I can climb a mountain cause on my knees the worlds
a little smaller on my knees

I Made It Through The Rain
Barry Manilow
We dreamers have our ways
Of facing rainy days
And somehow we survive
We keep the feelings warm
Protect them from the storm
Until our time arrives
Then one day the sun appears
And we come shining through those lonely years
I made it through the rain
I kept my world protected
I made it throught the rain
I kept my point of view
I made it through the rain
And found myself respected
By the others who
Got rained on too
And made it through
When friends are hard to find
And life seems so unkind
Sometimes you feel so afraid
Just aim beyond the clouds
And rise above the crowds
And start your own parade
'Cause when I chased my fears away
That's when I knew that I could finally say
I made it through the rain
I kept my world protected
I made it throught the rain
I kept my point of view
I made it through the rain

It is hard for me because sometimes, only some verses apply to me. The song that comes to mind I would not post the entire lyrics to because people would assume I like it for all of the lyrics and not just part of them. Let's just say that the first words to the song are "Leave me alone"...
it is set as my ring tone because I am tired of everyone needing me for everything (primarily work-related but also applies to other things, such as working on other people's computers, or trying to sell me things I am not interested in, over the phone, through the mail, knocking on my door, etc. - I don't care if it is a survey, insurance, or religion... just leave me alone... if I want any, I know how to find it)
