I don't think they felt the lack of freedom to move about the building, they just go sick of dealing with someone who has absolutely no respect.
So instead of telling them they are now free, perhaps you can simply invite them back.

I think we differ in what constitutes a "good thing". This fourm is not the same without the likes of Brother Groce, Old Paths, Coonskinner, Brother Epley, RRford and even that Rutlidge character.
Strength can never be attained by decreasing resistence.

They took their toys and ran away.
Nobody made them do it.
I love every one of them, but they have moved on to greener pastures where everyone worships their every word - as if it fell straight from the pearly gates.

Maybe so, but that aspect doesn't intimidate me or keep me from challenging them. It CAN be done with love and respect. That is why when they come to town they all want to meet me, and they call and send messages telling me they care. I think knowing I am on the reprobate side of the conservative fence and they still want to break bread is a little counterintuitive??

Carpenter, I've known you since old FCF days and you know I think highly of you.
But I do declare, you have become a caricature of yourself. You are OBSESSED with Dan Alicea.
Dan's a prominent poster who posts a lot, but you've almost become a stalker of his - quite unlike your normal matter-of-fact, sensible self.
PP's post was obviously tongue-in-cheek, yet you pop in as serious as a heart attack to get after DA.
Next, some of you people are going to be blaming DA for 4 bucks a gallon gasoline.
And quit making martyrs out of these come-and-go pack-posting "conservatives."
Most of them left this board when they found out it would not work propagating the illusion that "ole time pentecost" was winning the war of ideas by admin and ownership strong-arming and censorship.
Again Carpenter ... it's sad to see a once-great poster reduced to just a caricature.

Although Carpenter, who I have always liked doesn't seem to mention me--he hit the nail on the head. When you find yourself one of the few voices for a persuasion left--and not NEARLY as able as they--it tends to make for an atmosphere that is not too pleasant. I think that for a lot of people (myself included), there was an over-obsession with specific attacks on beliefs, so much that it permeated nearly every thread in spirit and in content.
True to the name of this forum, I come seeking and expecting Apostolic friendship, and in the "Fellowship Hall", Apostolic fellowship even if I don't agree with every detail that someone else agrees with.
I do recognize that there is a time and place to discuss disagreements (after all there is an entire room dedicated to Debates), and at times it is interesting to watch and participate.
I just pray that the entire nature and culture of the entire forum does not become liberal vs. conservative, ex-UPC or other org vs. current members because that does become very old and in my humble opinion flies in the face of the stated purpose of the forum.

I didn't leave because of DA. He didn't even figure in on the list. Think back to some threads regarding LB and "What a Difference a Line Can Make" and you will recall a number of individuals, their positions, and their attitudes who were hard for me to take. DA was a liberal who didn't agree with LB. That was no big whoop. It was the ones that I felt should have known better, and BELIEVED better that made holding my lunch down tough.

There isn't a desire for some former (posse) members to return recently over recent threads or developments on AFF as for the fact that the cons are beginning to eat their own on the other forum and some are returning/visiting for respite.
I think PP is onto something though. It just has to be much easier for them to roam or move around the building without DA here. They will soon scatter when he returns. Hurry back Dan.

On the contrary, this is not the case. Those at CAF have very interesting debates, that do get heated, of course, at times. But, there is no "turning on each other." The reason some have come here is to make a point regarding unethical behavior on the part of someone who has either copied and pasted from a closed forum--in violation of the agreement to be a member--or allowed someone else access to the forum via their userid and password. Whichever, it is unethical. That is the reason, and SOLELY the reason. There is no need for respite. Certainly, when you get back here and see some old friends posting--it has a pull. That is it.

Ok. So what I read on that blog is completely made up, right? No one said all those awful things against this SG fella. Is that what I hear you saying? I don't agree with what the person who started the blog did, but it doesn't compare to what those who were quoted did.
No. I am not saying that. SG is NOT on CAF. SG is not seen by some on CAF as a conservative. While I don't agree with their comments, it is simply not a situation where CAF members were tearing up CAF members. I am not at liberty to say more, as it is a closed forum. I was only responding to your assertion that CAF members were turning on other CAF members, and thus some were coming back here for respite. That is not the case. I am not denying, either, that some comments were made about SG that I do not agree with. I don't think Kansas Preacher made any such assertion like that, either.

Ha......I read a little slower now. You know who THE reader was, though he didn't speed read. But he would read encyclopedia's and all kinds of manuals. I could read when I was 4 and, I think I also knew how to write a little and count to 100. Did that in Bogalusa at our grandmother's. She encouraged it along with our Mama.

When I sort of began posting less here, it wasn't any "flouncing off in a huff" or anything, it just got to be less fun.

i will admit that I did finally get tired of being "stalked" by a gaggle of hyena-like posters who didn't have even a modicum of courtesy, but knew how to rail and mock without ever quite breaking the rules.
I'm not mad at anybody and lurk some, even posting occasionally.
But except on rare occasions when the mood strikes me or a subject interests me, I tend not to get in protracted discussions here.
It has nothing to do with being "scared" of anybody or any debate.
Anyone who hung out at FCF and NFCF knows that is laughable. If I didn't dodge Newman, I sure wouldn't be afraid of most of the current local talent. :)

Gottcha, I don't know the reason nor do I care to know. I just thought there was one.
Actually I think that it would be. I thought he wasn't even allowed here though?
If MB wanted to be here he could. He is a computer genius (or close to it).
I think he could defeat all of the security measure for at least a time.
The question is would his ethics allow him to do that though?
Would he acknowledge it was being dishonest or would he justify it in some way?

Come on CC1. You ought to know better than to post anything that actually gives folks the opportunity to comment on someone elses integrity and ethics.
How about deleting that one?

How do you measure computer genius?

rrford, the man's genius is undeniable.
His theology is irrefutable.

Those are not the two pointsI had issue with. The last two questions openly invite criticism of hos ethics and/or integrity. I see no purpose in such a post. Bit oh well, a few more ticks and a slight breeze and....until another season.
How do you measure computer genius?
Just trust me on this one. He is computer savvy as in not a hobby.
His business is very technical oriented. I think most of it is over the heads of us mere mortals who deal with computers at a consumer level.

That was not the intent. I just meant that different people view things differently.
I personally think registering at a forum under a false name and profile and posting things that are obviously lies is wrong but I know people I respect who have done that. I am not sure their justifiation but think it must have been because they considered it a joke, for fun, etc even though they never publicly acknowledged the deception to the best of my knowledge.
I just meant the same thing applies here. I personally don't see how he could sneak in here with a clear conscience but people can justify all sorts of things.
For example, as a man, I can justify any kind of electronic equipment or car I want!!!!

Perhaps. But let a few of the WWOD Haters show up and they will attack the character and integrity part. Oh well, ya'll be blessed until the wind blows this way again. Signing off.

All this reminising has left me wondering afresh...
Q1a.Did MB aka WWOD, participate in posting here that earned him a lifetime ban from AFF?
Q1b. If not, is MB's lifetime ban at AFF established by actions/posts involved at NFCF?
Q2. Since the days of FCF has there ever been a lifetime/permanent ban that was ever permanent? or even more than a few months to maybe a year?
just wondering.

1a. No.
1b. No.
2. I can't speak for FCF, but for NFCF and AFF there were some perm bans and last year St. Matt had a year of jubilee and let those have a another chance.

The past few days of posting have been more volatile than when DA was here.

If you look at the punctuation, you will see that the first part was a question, the second part was a statement. ;)

Think you are talking out of turn could be a question or a statement. "I think you are talking out of turn here." Is a statement.
