What a coincidence! The last few days on a Joel Osteen thread the subject of his wife Victoria's 2005 air rage incident came up.
Now today Fox News has a story that the Continental Airlines attendant involved in that fracas is suing Victoria Osteen and the case is going to trial.

After reading the article and the details of the alleged assault, I found one sentence pretty odd.

Well, I don't know about Texas law with regard to "common marital property". 10% of Victoria Olsteen's net worth may be far, far less than 10% of Joel's. In Alabama, property and income of one spouse isn't considered common marital property. It's separate.

To answer your question, VO probably told the filght attendent where to shove it... and the flight attendant did... I think the hemorrhoids caused the anxiety.
I would love to have so much control over people I make them have uncontrollable bowel problems... That's power man...

Wanting 10% of her wealth tells you just how "distrub" she is over the incident!
I wish the jury would make this worman pay ALL the attorney fees and maybe some of these frivilous lawsuits would stop!

It is a "reality thing". Some of us prefer to deal with reality and look at both the good and bad situations going on in the world.
If you prefer to act as if this incident where Victoria Osteen made a fool of herself and did not exhibit Christian charcter did not happen then feel free to do so.
I believe in responsibility and accountibilty. Victoria should have publicly apologized with no reservations and repented publicly for her behaviour. Then I would have repsected her because that would have shown a true desire to do what is right and to be right.

I am not trying to play 'Defender' here but there are people that have it out for the more famous of the Christian ministers and their family. I remember Jesse Duplantis tell a story about locking his key in his room and the attendant which was a homosexual that was known by his coworkers to HATE preachers.
The attendant was asked by Jesse for another room key and long story short it bacame an REAL bad situation where the guy tried to accuse Jesse of abuse and the attendant must have been a dumb guy cause his and Jesse's exchange was all on tape by the security system. The guy said Jesse hit him and all that. But the tape clearly shows that he didn't even touch him.
Come to find out that this type of thing had happened several times with this attendant and preachers. The hotel manager verified that is was a problem for this guy, but the attendant had promised not to do it again and he did and lost his job. So there are people out there that try to catch ministers in a tight spot. I am sure Victoria was not an angel, but she might not have been a witch either.

I have seen a UPC pastor's wife verbally and almost physically assault those poor little guys who dry off the cars after the carwash because they missed a spot or two on her new Caddy, not to mention her assault on a few church folk a time or two in different situations yours truly included...

I stated earlier that there is no doubt this fllight attendant is looking for money in Joel and Victorias deep pockets.
However that does not negate the truth of what happened and it was well documented back then. Victoria was something that rhymes with witch and absolutely did not exhibit Christian character in the incident.
I just wish some of these high profile folks would have the humility to admit when they are wrong and just all out apologize, repent publicly, and use the failure to make themselves better.
I know that Joel must be mortified.

You know what is so amazing? I found out last week she did exactly this to an up and coming little gal who has tremendous talent.
The Pastor's daughter, a monster in her own right, was doing this little "hands in the air wave-up-turnaournd-smile"-dance move in the choir, and this little gal (married) who was 7 months pregnant at the time, didn't do the whole coreography thing just right and she got ripped a new one right then and there. The ushers found her on the back stairs crying her eyes out. Bless her heart, she is back up there.
It's not worth the drama for me, I outgrew the notion that the church needs me on the platform in order for the service to be successful, and no way will I set myself up again like that. 1st time, ok, 2nd time, I can get over it, 3rd time, do I really want to give up singing? 4th time, screw this. :D

As absurd as this lawsuit is the shame is that a major Christian leader had to act like a rear end in the first place.
Victoria's behaviour just perpetuates the stereotype that Christians are not for real, that they don't live what they preach.
Has anybody seen one sentance of remorse since 2005 on the part of Victoria? My google search did not bring up anything.

The lawsuit is bogus. Victorias less than nice behaviour is not.
By all reason and logic it appears Victoria was rude and a ..er...witch but nothing more.
The flight attendant has tried to take Victorias rude, boorish behaviour and turn it into a physical attack, etc that cannot be proven and by all accounts seems highly unlikely.
If she had raised her voice or shoved the attendant as accused you would think at least one other first class passenger would have witnessed it.
This flight attendant is a nutcase who is seeking money BUT that does not excuse Victoria's behaviour which was not very Christian.

When I sit in coach and especially in First Class - they better NOT give me a napkin and tell me to clean up some ........ on the seat myself! They will clean it up or we will not be going anywhere. The flight attendants job is to take care of the passengers.
When someone is paying $1500 for a First Class Seat or $179 for coach - they should have a clean seat!
The flight attendant has done this before so - she saw the Osteens - smelled the $$$$$ and now she sues! She will LOSE and I hope she goes to JAIL.... and repents and gets saved - 1 step or 3 - don't matter to me!!

Only if she lied and if the lawsuit is really fraudulent.
This is just me, but something happened that, at the very least, gave room to this. I don't for one second believe Sis Osteen to be completely innocent in all of this.
I get that impression from reading the other comments about her on this thread. Something happened, I just wish the flight attendant had witnesses to back up her claims...

Those Osteen's are to be admired. No, I am certain Victoria is not perfect!

The sleazy Gold digger flight attendant looks like the big liar and mental case that she is now - lowering her price to just over $400,000! So stupid she could not get a Doctors report to say she had any injury at all. HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You folks that slam the Osteens - they are some of the kindest and sweetest people you will ever meet. This simply did NOT happen as everyone on the plane testified too except the two gold digging flight attendants!
I HOPE THEY FIRE THEM and put them in jail for perjury!

Claudia Hall, a former Continental flight attendant, testified by video deposition she was falsely accused by Brown of hitting and pushing her into the bathroom wall of a plane in November 1995.

The woman must be mentally unstable? It is sad the Osteens had to pay and attorney and get drug through the mud for this ordeal. I confess when I heard it on the news I accepted it as fact. This is a travesty. Evidently money was in the mind of this lady. I say she will not get a dime unless something else comes to light.

It is a shame that she had to defend herself and they have to take time off from Ministry to deal with a nut case - BOGUS case like this.
This FA should be held accountable and have to pay for the Osteen's time and attorneys and she should be charged with PERJURY and arrested and spend some time - finding JESUS in JAIL!
