View Full Version : Hell On Earth
Southern California hot spot hits 812 degrees and baffles scientists!
Below is a link to a news story about a spot on earth that has inexplicably been incredibly hot the last few months. Hot to the point of causing spontaneous brush fires, shoe soles to melt, etc.
Temperatures have been measured 550-812 degrees. Scientists are baffled. What do you think?

I see a potential for someone to go in and open up a new therapeutic hot water spa!
I see a potential for someone to go in and open up a new therapeutic hot water spa!
I don't think this would be very theapeutic. This would be deadly!
One of the guys interviewed said when he was taking the temp of the soil he looked down and the rubber soles on his shoes were melting.

It's petroleum burning underground.

That is one of the theories.

It doesn't appear to be a volcano and it is not nuclear radiation......perhaps it's a dragon's nest......:ursofunny

The crazy thing that popped into my mind was some article I was reading recently about all of the different proposed alternative energy schemes and one of them is for giant solar arrays in space that would then direct the solar energy in a directed beam back to earth.
They were saying how there would have to be all of these safeguards because it would have so much energy that it would have to be directed toward a special receiver and if the beam drifted in would kill anything in its path.
When I saw this I wondered if perhaps the government wasn't testing a small version of this concept in space and was missing their target! LOL

Seriously, I have given some thought to whether a black hole could be hell. They seem to be very hot and it is said no light escapes.

LOL!!!! Now you are going to bring the black helicopter folks out of the wood work and we will have to listen to how GWB started the Iraq war for oil, he is secretly planning for one world government (cause we all know how well he gets along with the rest of the world!) and that the government was behind 9-11. Arghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GWB is a good ole boy. He means well, but he's not very smart. I'm quite sure the Dept of Defense hasn't let him have the "real" codes to turn on the nations nuclear weaponry. He'd have blown something up by now.

Right. I mean just because he was elected Governor of Texas twice and President of the United States twice doesn't account for anything.
I find it amazing that just because he is not a good public speaker the Bush haters equate that with him not being smart.
The media hates him and uses every opportunity to belittle him and it works because people like you pick up the mantra and repeat it.
It has been said that Jimmy Carter had one of the highest IQ's of any President and he was a micro managing nightmare. I am old enough to remember 21% interest rates and 18% inflation and being told America's best days were behind us and we were now in an era of scarcity (this was about 1978) and we were going to have to cut back on our expectatoins of the American lifestyle, quality of living, etc.

Oh, I support GWB. I just don't think he's very bright. The media didn't give me that opinion. Yes, I formulated that opinion on my own due to his inability to express himself clearly as a public speaker. I voted for him for president twice because I sure as heck didn't want Al Gore or John Kerry in office. I don't know what GWB's IQ is. I don't really care. Like it or not, a lack of effectiveness as a public speaker affects your image of competency when you hold a high-ranking political office. And for all of his errors and shortcomings, I still think GWB was the best choice of the available selections. I support and pray for our President, even when I don't agree with him.

Wonder if GWB was kin to Moses. He was the meekest man on earth and
didn't have any confidence in his ability to speak either. One God and a
God-called man with a rod did the job.
"For you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the
flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But GOD has chosen
the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and GOD hath chosen
the weak things of the world to confound the things that are mighty;
And base things of the world, and things that are despised, has God
chosen, yea and things which are not, to bring to nought things that
are:
That no flesh should glory in his presence."

I will take a President like President Bush, who is decisive, true to his convictions, means what he says, doesn't flip flop, a man of integrity in every sense of the word, over someone who is articulate and able to encite the crowd telling them exactly what they want to hear but who doesn't believe one stitch of what he says.
Can you imagine what our nation would look like today had either Gore or Kerry been elected. SHUDDER'
Well lets see, we just might have that opportunity SHUDDER'

I'm not disagreeing with you. I voted for Bush twice, because although he's not the best public speaker, he was better suited than Gore or Kerry for the job. And this time around, I will not be voting for the best public speaker. I'll vote for the person who most closely represents MY positions on the issues that concern me. And through his ups and downs, rights and wrongs, I think Bush has done the best job that he possibly can.

What if the hot spot in California is an unknown "supervolcano" like the one discovered under Yellowstone? There is a lot of geologic and seismic activity going on in California.

Bro. Chris,
I just saw this and thank you for the suggestion. But it doesn't
really bother me at all for anyone to think it is that handsome
white-haired man beside me speaking. Perhaps my words are even
better received. LOL!:friend
