(CNN) -- Soul singer and arranger Isaac Hayes, who won Grammy awards and an Oscar for the theme from the 1971 action film "Shaft," has died, sheriff's officials in Memphis, Tennessee, reported Sunday.

Relatives found Hayes, 65, unconscious in his home next to a still-running treadmill, said Steve Shular, a spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.

Paramedics attempted to revive him and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2 p.m., the sheriff's department said.

No foul play is suspected, the agency said in a written statement.

That would have been really weird, but I don't think he counts...

I have always wanted to start a dead pool. I think it would be interesting, weight it for those who are totally unexpected like Heath Ledger and Bernie Mac, and now we know Paul Newman is on his way out and who would have thought of Issac Hayes?

Whaddaya mean? You think I think that it isn't morbid? What kind of person to do you think I am?

:D

Think about it, lets say folks pay 50 bucks to join up. You have to pick 10 people, ad higher values to the most unlikely

Paul Newman
Jack Black $20 (totally unexpected)
Any member of Saturday Night Live $5 (You never know)
Jimmy Carter
The Pope
Liza Minelli
Elizabeth Taylor
Sly of Sly and the family stone
Courtney Love
Cher

You get the point...

I thought of the three thing this morning when I heard about Isaac. And the fact that Isaac would have been three if Morgan hadn't made it.

Isaac Hayes seems like an unlikely canidate but was in fact a member of the church of Scientology.

He quit his gig as the voice of the chef on the South Park cartoon after the cartoon skewered Scientology and it's cheif proponent Tom Cruise.

His restaurant here in Memphis closed - not sure why because it was always busy!

Oh, I didn't know he had a real restaurant...I was paying homage to his Chef character on South Park.
I think that maybe in recent years people may have started to think that he was getting a little weird and that may have affected his business though.
