Can the baised media be stopped?
If so, how would you propose it happen?
Would calls to the sponsors of their news media help?
I had heard their license required they be unbiased is there any truth in that?
Any suggestions?

Yes with the "speaking in tongues" reference (like Fox).

A move how? I heard about the bickering they had on MSNBC over the weedend. I think we have a responiblity to be informed. I enjoy watching all sides of the coverage of the election. CNN is very biased toward Obama, Fox is biased toward McCain/ Palin. Biden? Who??? I bet Obama wished he could take that choice back.

I would just like for all the FACTS and not opinions to be given and not just slamming one side.
In other words if it is a "Private family matter" on one side then it should be on both sides.

I've yet to find an unbiased news source. It's one extreme or the other.

That's the way I see it, and the adherents on either side gobble it up from their source and complain about it from the other.

ko and the rest at msnbc needed to be punked, they were getttin ugly and had no more shame, all of these people need to stop taking blog messages for fact and get the truth out, whatever it is, dt

Maybe an email campaign to advertisers who support the programming?
Hit them where it hurts, in their advertising revenue. Viewers complain to advertisers about program content and advertisers drop the program to avoid people boycotting them.

I agree I think that can be vital avenue.
I really need someone to point out the overt bias of Fox news. I keep hearing about it but I have yet to see it.
even if Fox is slightly slanted right, it certainly isnt nearly so slanted as MSNBC or CNN. really, is anyone suggesting that?
I will say, Megan Kelly this morning could barely conceal her rage when interviewing one of those idiot women columnists who had slammed Sarah Palin for trying to be a VP and a mom.....It was sure funny.

PBS seems to be the most unbiased one out there now.
But the commercial networks all have their own slant, which tends to be mostly liberal -- some are pretty blatant with it (MSNBC), while some others are a bit more subtle (CNN, ABC, etc).

Fox does lean to the right, no question about that in my mind.
But they do tend to make an effort to show both sides of the issue more, and bring on guests that represent both the liberal and conservative sides of an issue, moreseo than the other news networks do.

lean slightly to the right....maybe.
Sean Hanity is quite partisan to the right.... but he has equal billing with a guy who is just as partisian to the left.
Greata Van Sustran cant be accused of being a right winger by any streatch.
Brit Hume leans to the right, but his show clearly gives billing to conservitives, neo-cons, moderates, moderate-libs, and liberals.
he even has a couple of PBS Radio folk as regular contributors.
Nobody thinks Bill O'Riley is a hard right guy. egotistical maniac yes, but he certainly isnt in the bag for conservitives....
Im just wondering why Fox gets billed as "HARD RIGHT" every time that comes up and I ask for an example, I get nothing.

We also have to keep in mind that what is "slightly slanted right" to us, would be viewed as extremely conservative to a liberal. Many of them would say that other networks may be slightly slanted to the left.
Of all the big shows the only one that I think is somewhat balanced is Hannity and Colmbes. Not because there is not incredible bias on the part of the hosts, but because they at least admit it and have two incredibly biased people on to offset each other. In my opinion though, it does serve as a tangible reminder and confirmation of how much bias can affect hosts and newscasters. The two of them can hear the exact same thing and like clockwork hear it two different ways.

I was completely ROFL as I was listening to that exchange on my way to work this morning. I wish I could have seen it. I thought, how ironic, liberal feminist women are now proclaiming men & women are different, motherhood isn't the same as fatherhood. All absolutely true statements BTW, but the feminazi's mantra has been men and women are the same, you don't need a father, a mother or two will do. Palin has definitely thrown them into a tailspin. They don't know what to do with a high achieving women, who respects men, and doesn't toe to the liberal feminist agenda.

You don't see it because you are so far right you are on the fringes. I am not saying you are bad just where I see you positioned after reading your post for a few years.
The difference between you and me, Fox and CNN is that you and Fox like the way Bush has run the country and the way MCcain will run the country and CNN and I don't. Because you agree with his governing doesn't make you any more conservative or patriotic that me. I am willing to admit there is bias in the news media and there all way has been. So don't insult peoples intelligence by saying Fox news is fair and balanced.

I can't believe people think that the media is slanted to the left or right. Rush Limbaugh complains the media is leftist and Mike Malloy complains the media is slanted to the right. The truth of the matter concerning the "Corporate Media" is that it is conserative concerning economic issues and liberal concerning culturally social issues. So the media doesn't satisfy either side. How many times do you see Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin on CNN, MSNBC or FOX? The internet is the best way to stay informed.

I agree with you on a couple of points. I am no more patriotic than you and I am well to the right of the political spectrrum....
being to the right on the political spectrium however, doesnt mean I am well to the right of America in general. Nor is the fringe i am on dangerous.
People like me believe cutting taxes reaise revenue because we have seen it work time and again. we believe that the Supreme court souldnt create law, the legislature should.
on the other hand, the fringe of the left was on display in St. Paul during the Republican convention. 300 of them got themselves arrested for assaulting police officers and breaking windows and in general creating mayhem.
There is no conservitive counterpart to Keith Oberman.
This is my point, Barak Obama likes to counter the charge that DailyKos is countered by guys like Sean Hanity. the differnence? DailyKos frequently issues lines like "I hope Dick Cheney gets cancer and dies" while Hanity says things like "Stop Obama"
the "far" right is MUCH more close to the center than the "far" right.
somebody please prove me wrong.

I've read that sort of sentiment even here about Obama. There are plenty of far right websites and places that do echo that sentiment. I'm not sure that you can compare a liberal website or blog to a national television program when looking for the extremes on either side. I think that extreme liberal websites must be compared to extreme conservative websites. Hanity would probably not say on air that he hopes Obama would get cancer and die...but I would not expect a anchor on one of the other liberal network television shows say that about Palin or McCain either.
