FOX News (http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/25/joe-plumber-considers-run-congress/): Will "Joe the Plumber" compete for the new title of "Joe the Congressman" in 2010? Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher says he's thinking about it.
The Ohio plumber, whose nickname became a quick catchphrase on the presidential campaign trail, told FOX News' Neil Cavuto on Saturday that he's considering a run for Congress in response to recent chatter on Web sites and talk shows.
"Politics is a big part of my life. I love how American government works," Wurzelbacher told Cavuto, adding that he often has asked himself, "What can I do to make a difference?"
What do you think? Do you think Joe the Plumber might be the one who could flush out Washington?? :whistle

I think Joe the plumber is a flash in the pan.
Not to mention that his qualifications are dubious...There are far more qualified people that could and should run for congress rather than him.

The qualifications for ANY political position, in the minds of the framers of the constitution were simply ANYONE of the common people who would serve their term and then go home. :D

His fifteen minutes are up. He needs to go quietly and self-respectingly into the night.

I heard Joe the Plumber say on the news this morning that he didn't want the
governement to give him anything. He wanted to work for it. He used the example
of "GIVING a man a fish and he would eat for a day, TEACH him to fish and he will
eat for a lifetime".
I believe if we pray for someone every time they get sick, they will become dependant
on you for prayer. Teach them faith in God and they will learn to pray for themselves
and others until they learn. I am afraid we've been enablers to many by doing their
praying for them instead of teaching them to pray.
Many in our city call us to pray. They go to their churches and support them but when
they have a desperate need, they suddenly remember our phone numbers. I believe
Jesus was wanting His disciples to "learn to pray" by hearing Him. Remember they
asked Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples to pray. He gave
the example found in the next verse. Luke 11:1-4. Pray to the Father (Deity) in heaven,
etc., etc.
I thank God for godly parents that didn't give us everything we wanted. We
learned to work and TRUST GOD by observing them working and praying AND
TRUSTING GOD!!! Grandma Lizzie, Dad and Mom, etc. who prayed for us and
taught us to pray, believing and trusting God, have all gone Home now. But
the GOD we learned to look to and trust, remains ALIVE in our hearts and
lives! Those following us are hearing, believing, praying and trusting God.
When we leave this world, they will have learned to trust HIM for them-
selves and will be teaching those behind them.
But it is important to begin teaching early. While the young "trees" are
bendable and teachable. As they grow tall and older, they get hard to
bend and train up.

I agree. After all, he will need all the time he can muster to make $250,000 a year as a plumber.
I'm teasing.... :aaa

Maybe he figured out that he can become a Congressman and make his quarter-million through back channels and under the table.
