How about someone telling about something great that God has done for them that they prayed about for awhile. It always lifts my spirits to hear about the goodness of God.
Who will be the first..Speak right into the microphone.
Well, how about just telling some of what He has done for me today?
I have been a child of God for over 50 years.
I woke up this morning in reasonable good mental and physical health for a 70 year old fat man.
My wife to whom I have been married for 50 plus years is in reasonable mental and physical health.
There is a roof over me that does not leak.
The 3 bedroom house is paid off and the property taxes are paid up current.
The utilities: gas, electric, water, telephone, cable, garbage pickup are all paid up current.
There is food in the refrigerator and pantry.
I have decent clothes to put on.
There is a 2000 Honda Odyssey Van in the garage that is paid off.
There is a 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck in the driveway that I am paying on and the payments are current.
I have a good church just 9.5 miles away that I ordinarily go to on Saturday for outreach but today we had a couple of the grandkids here so we did something else.
While on the road for several miles and several trips the van performed well and we arrived every where we wanted to go safely and then returned home safely.
I have 5 children and 13 grandchildren who are all in reasonably good health.
I have an iMac desktop computer and an iBook laptop which work well.
I have a small monthly pension coming in every month from General Electric.
My wife and I both receive Social Security checks every month.
My 401K has recently dropped about 20 percent in value but there is still something in it.
I was born in the United States and have been privileged to live here all my life.
I'm sure there's more to be thankful for but that's all this tired mind can think of right now. It's time for me to get to bed.

On the night that Sen. Obama gave his acceptance speech, I was walking around NW DC (close to the White House area) and had the opportunity to help a homeless guy who was living out of his van.
My car broke down on the way to work last Sunday night in NE DC, near the MD line. It kept overheating.
Some guy pulled up in a white van to ask for money. I told him, "I know who you are man" and I wished he would just go away. I tried to ignore him and was tempted to be short.
But he ended up getting out of his van, got my car running cool and told me exactly where to go to get it checked out at a garage that was open on Sunday afternoons.
However, the car never overheated again. It still hasn't overheated!
Thank you Jesus!!! He is SO GRACIOUS AND KIND TO ME!!! I asked Him to heal my car and HE DID!!!

Last year at this time our home miraculously sold. Things were bad then, they're even worse now and I praise him so much that we were able to sell. At the time, I was a little disappointed at what we walked away with, but as of this date, the indicators show the house is now -$30,000 less than what we sold it for.
God blessed me with a great new job back in July in a terrible job market.
What a mighty God we serve!

Seriously, I received a miracle this week but I want to keep the details private. Just know that God came through for a big issue in my life.

I have returned...
10 lepers were cleansed of their leprosy by the healing touch of the Lord Jesus Christ. If memory serves, only two returned to personally thank the Lord for His touch. I want to be one of those two.
As some here may know, this has been THE most difficult year of my life. I won't go into detail, but, well, life has sure taken a turn over the past year. And, things continue to change. Some things are good, and I thank God for all He has done in my life this year. Some things, well... not so good. But, I hold to the promise that "All things work for the good...". While life over the past few months has been an emotional (and physical) roller coaster, I just want to stop amongst all the negative threads, the personal conflicts, the doctrinal (and political) squabblings, and just say I thank the Lord He has sustained me thus far. It is the Lord who has helped me to stay focused on life, such as it is. I have found myself in a situation I have never been in before... never thought I'd ever be in this position before. But I am, and if I thought for one minute I was alone, I don't think I could handle it. I know I couldn't.
But I am not alone. I have a promise of the Lord's abiding Presence. No.... scratch that. Its not a Promise... I HAVE His abiding Presence. He has made His Presence very real many times... most often in the form of a word from someone here on AFF. A word they may not have thought a lot about, maybe a word that, to them, didn't mean alot. But, because it was "a word spoken in due season" it was a Word from the Lord to me.
I look back over this year and I am well aware of the problems and crisis' in peoples life's, and I compare those to mine, and I feel ashamed at times. ( Kind of like, "I complained that I had no shoes, until I saw a man with no feet".) While my situation has been rough, I can't imagine what our sister went thru when she lost her children (temporarily, as it turns out, thank the Lord). The brother who lost his dad at the same time my crisis was unfolding. Sickness. death, problems of all sorts. But the same God who has stood with me (even though, I'll be the first to admit, I am far from deserving), stands with them. No, He doesn't always make the problems go away, but He does give us the grace to endure. And for that I am thankful.
Endure. What a word. Kind of an ugly word. But, at the same time, a word of hope. I can make it. I am going thru. For 40 years the children of Israel endured the wilderness. There was a reason. 3 Hebrew children endured a red-hot furnace. There was a reason. Jesus endured the cross for a reason. And, we endure for a reason. Why? Why do we have to endure hardships? If I could come up with a good answer, I'd rank right up there with Einstein. I don't have a good answer. Except to say this: We suffer because He who knew no sin suffered. And we can endure because He did.
So... this morning, while I prepare to "endure" another day of work, I just wanted to return to say "Thank you, Lord, for all your blessing on me". I don't know what today holds, nor do I know what tomorrow holds. But I do know Who holds today. And I know Who holds tomorrow. And with that little bit of knowledge, I will endure.
And. BTW, Pennycostul, thank you for the window of opportunity to testify of God's goodness He has shown to me.

Even in uncertain times, when it seems the earth around us is shaken we have a Rock, Christ Jesus we can hold to. I have been praising God lately because He has been faithful to me. I have not had any major crisis in my life - at least not today- but He has been faithful to me in what ever state I have been in. He is the constant in my life that I can depend on. To me that is a great comfort and I just wanted to praise Him for being there.
