Daylight Saving Time: Why Did We Do It?
At 2:00 a.m. local on Sunday, most of the United States (except Hawaii and Arizona) will leave daylight saving time behind and fall back an hour to standard time.
The annoyance of resetting clocks (or forgetting to, and showing up an hour early for appointments on Sunday) may raise the question of why we bother with this rigmarole in the first place.

Who can tell me where that hour goes?
......"Who Knows Where The Time Goes"?? ....She was one of my favorites back in the 60s and 70s.

"Who Knows Where the Time Goes"
Across the morning sky,
All the birds are leaving,
Ah, how can they know it's time for them to go?
Before the winter fire,
We'll still be dreaming.
I do not count the time.
Who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
Sad deserted shore,
Your fickle friends are leaving,
Ah, but then you know it's time for them to go,
But I will still be here,
I have no thought of leaving.
I do not count the time.
Who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
And I'm not alone,
While my love is near me,
And I know,it will be so,till it's time to go,
So come the storms of winter ,
and then the birds in spring again.
I do not fear the time.
Who knows how my love grows?
Who knows where the time goes?

I'd like to knock whoever thought of this time changing business in the head. I hate this!!
I think we should leave it alone- Leave it at daylight savings.

NOPE!...Not for me. Not at all. Judy's version is the pure version.
I can't even stand to listen to her all the way through. Whew.

Don't we gain a hour of sleep ?
Only if you go to bed at the same time you have been.

We never announce the time change at church in the Fall. For once, some people come really early to church who are usually late. We love it!

I hate it!!!! It makes no difference to me, jump ahead or back, I still wake -up at the same time, no matter what! So I'm always late or early, when this switch takes place!:aaa

That's good Sherri! I'll have to remember that next year.
I already sent my mass email out to the choir so it's too late.
HOWEVER, surely you remind everyone when we lose an hour in the spring??

I used to attend a small church where we were consistently late, no matter what we did. I hated that, because in a small church, EVERYONE knows you are late!
One spring morning, I was pleased that we'd gotten off to an early start, and would be about 15 minutes early for church!
When we arrived, there were too many cars in the parking lot for such an early time.
Then it hit me.....the time changed!! LOL! We were almost an hour late!!!

Thank God I don't have to worry about that any more.
