View Full Version : Posts of the Year

I wanted to do something this year but, well, events earlier in the year prevented me. I wanted to compile a list of posts that I felt would considered "The Top Ten Posts of the Year". In my mind, to be nominated as a "Post of the Year", a post would need to be 1) of a Christian nature 2) reflect the doctrinal views of this forum, and 3) (and most importantly) bring glory to the Lord.

Now that the year is almost gone, (and I don't have the time and patience to search through the archives), I was wondering.... if you were to pick out some posts for nomination, which would you pick? Of course, you don't have the time (or patience) to go thru the archives, but, is there a post (or two)that sticks out in your mind?

You know... this could be way cool. Could pick a panel of judges to decide the top ten, narrow it down to the #1 Post of the Year and give the winner something... like a new car. Or not. Just think about it. And, post a link to that thread the post is on. This is gonna be hard... lots of good posts to think about. Got a couple in mind even now....

I think since I haven't been around for a while I should be a judge.

Ok, go back thru the archives and read everything posted in 2008. Wait until Jan. 1, though, just to make it fair. Then list what you think are the best ten posts of the year.

BTW- welcome back. Missed ya around here. Where ya been, watcha been doin' and how ya been? Okay, narrow that down to "How ya been?"

I'm not Prax, but I don't believe it would be possible.

Well, I think it should be. I want it to be. Therefore it is possible. PRAX!!!!

No, it's a great idea - just might be hard to separate the posts.

At one time we did have a post of the week or something like that thread. It might have been on NFCF, but I was thinking we'd started one here.

To read ALL the posts of 2008... hmmm let's see, that would take until the summer of 2009!

It'd take that long just to read the "No room for One Steppers" thread. And I WILL NOT GO THERE.

A thread where people can paste what they consider nominations for "Post of the Year"? Might be an idea for next year. "Make it so- Number One" - Jean Luc Pickard, Star Trek: the New Generation

To be honest, logistically it might be easier to do top posters of the year. Trying to find and evaluate each individual post would take forever, and since Ferd's job tightened up on him, nobody has that kind of idle time.
Perhaps it would be easier to look at individual posters and the totality of their posts in quality, content, and spirit.

There are several that I would nominate as top ten. Maybe we could also consider a Razzies option for the ten worst posters of the year. :evilglee

I was hoping that someone would post them and I would judge the best posts.

Well that would not be much of a contest, because we all know who would win.:whistle

Yeah, like a free, all expense paid trip to L.A.? Sure would be nice to see Lower Alabama, maybe even meet Bro. Scott. Now that would be a trip!

I'd nominate Sis Falla and Sis. Alvear as co-wiinners of the best, most uplifting Posts of the Year. But, they'd both say, "Ahhhh, twasn't nothing". But they bothe are, and always shall be Tops in my book!

Oooo....that's interesting. The thread that generated the most response and interest? Or the thread that was the most thought provoking and creative? That would be fun.

The most post doesn't always reflect the subject. Could have turned into a shoe thread. :)

Whatever thread you enjoyed the most would be a good start. IMO
