I'm buying a new laptop and want to transfer files from my old laptop. What do I do specifically to transfer files like esword, itunes etc to my new laptop. What kind of cable do I need and what are the commands I use? Thanks.

I'm starting to get dotted lines across my plasma screen. I think my screen is going bad. Is this reversible?

There is a difference between transferring files and transferring installed programs
In many cases you will have to install the programs from scratch, but you can transfer your files in many ways, like burning to a CD or DVD. You can also directly connect them by maybe a network cable and a direct connection and then using windows file transfer wizard

I found transfer wizard in system tools, still checking it out. Was worried about my "favorites" file. I would hate to go line by line in order to transfer. Can anyone recommend the best laptop brand to purchase? I have a compaq presario but want to go with better quality if I can. Any recommendations?

Quality? Often one brand of LP are not better quality than the other in the same class. They are pretty close.

You can buy a flash drive that fits into a USB port and holds several gigs of memory -- lots of files! You can get them around $20. And transfer files onto it and in turn transfer them from it to your other computer.
