Good point that CLC is the initials of both the church and the Bible College. Of course in the context of the Sea person it is the Bible College.

Funny story, the doctor has a funny way of making a point, he wriggles his fingers and gives a googly eye...one day waaay back he did this and then proceeded to casually lean back with his hand resting on the wall for emphasis (it was a great point) he misjudged the distance and placed his hand through an open 2nd story window and almost fell out of the building!!!:slaphappy :slaphappy Can you say, "Class dismissed due to laughter"????!!!!

Yes, Dr. Daniel Segraves has resigned as president of Christian Life College. I heard him personally and this is what he had to say.... "For several years, God has dealt with me regarding devoting myself to writing for the Pentecostal Oneness movement. When I signed my last contract (seven and 1/2 years ago), I knew that it would be my last. The contract expired this past August; however, at that point I didn't feel released to go so I stayed for another school year. My wife and I will be settling in St. Louis, MO. MO is where both of us were born and raised and is our homestate.... We own property there and it just makes sense to settle in a centrally located city.... besides the fact that St. Louis has some of the largest and most extensive theological research libraries in the country." He went on to speak very highly of NH and his leadership of the church and the college. He said he would be back from time to time to visit the college and will remain on the college Board of Directors. He also said that he believes very strongly in CLC (both church and college) and the direction that NH is leading both. At this time a new president has not been named. NH will serve as "acting president" until a new one is named. (I've been here MANY years and this is how it was always handled when a president resigned. KH was "acting president" several times during my years here.) I understand his son Mark will be taking the Adult Bible Class on Sunday mornings, something that his dad has had for probably the entire 25 years he has been here.

Now......... D.A. I don't know why you were so evasive in your question.... trying to stir up something that is not there? And I can't imagine why Thad was asked not to comment on this unless it was prior to it being announced to the faculty and student body ... fact is fact.... :tiphat

Folks the man is retirement age.... and if you don't live in CA, you have no idea how unfriendly it can be to retirees. I can fully understand he reasons to move since he feels that God is leading him in this direction.

Any more questions??????? :winkgrin

I guess that you could define it that way. His contract expired this past August. I don't know if he told them at that time that it would be on a year to year basis or not. I only know that he spoke with NH two to three weeks ago and told him at that time that he was going to retire. He is truly a GREAT man and his wife is a special lady. They will truly be missed at the church as well as the college. I'm privileged to count them as "friends".

CC1......... You and I have had this discussion in the past. :beatdeadhorse :beatdeadhorse The man DID finish high school!!!! At least he had the gumption to realize that he made a mistake when he was a young man and took the necessary steps to correct it! He has probably taken more college classes than people will ever give him credit for and he is NO dummy!!! And I would put him up against ANYONE with his business sense. The man has made money people are not aware of - and has given it most of it back to the Kingdom! You don't KNOW him and have no right to be so critical of him! :ignore

Daniel Segraves will be missed, but he is needed to complete a comprehensive systematic theology from a Oneness perspective.

St. Louis is centrally located for his continued speaking ministry and is a whole lot cheaper to live in for retired couples.

I count it to be one life's highest gifts to me that I had him a teacher/mentor, my whole theology/view of God has been influened by him, I don't have one iota of ministry that does not have his mark on.

He is a tremedous gift to the church.
