Not really. Actually, they are pretty current. There is a mid-west sound that I really have to get used to. I am more used to a "West Coast/California sound"...more gospel. But, I have to say that they are current...they do just give some songs a mid-west arrangement.

I have heard some positive things about the new project...looking forward to hearing what it is.

I just love the old school get down and boogie black gospel choir music! I loved it back in the late 1970;s when the JCM choir was doing a lot of Edwin and Walter Hawkins stuff (and of course Andre Crouch).

Have you ever heard a netfeed that sounded mixed right?


Because we foolishly only got to church about 15 minutes early Easter Sunday we were relegated to one of the overflow areas. We were in the Wallace Chapel which seats 300-400 and about five years ago was remodeled to include a state of the art sound system, etc.

I thought the sound mix was going to be terrible piped in from the main auditorium since a house mix takes into account the hosue acoustics. For that reason usually webcasts or video's made from a house feed don't sound good.

When I did TV we had a splitter for the house board and had our own board and sound mixer who could put compression, echo, etc and bring up or down whichever channel he needed to make a RECORDED mix sound great.

However I was pleasantly surprised that the house mix from the main auditorium sounded great in the Wallace Chapel as we watched the service on big screens. So I guess good mixes can come from a house mix if the sound guy is cognizent that his mix may need some elements for the webcast or simulcast that he would not need in just the main house.

I'm sure there is a webcast. Here's the reason I ask. All I ever hear from my sister is how great there music and singers are and how great a job my brother in law does on the sound and blah blah blah. Their website is www.factv.org/ . I have gone on a few occasions and it was nice. The problem is I hear so much about their church I get burnt out on it before I ever watch their services.
Anyway, I knew their choir was singing there so I figured I would get some objective reviews.

FOR THE RECORD! I really like their pastor. Super nice guy and very annointed of the Lord. This is not meant to sound like a slam on their church.

I am going to miss the webcast tonight. Right after work I have to head straight to church. This is the last weekend for our big Easter production. I wish they would have had Jonathan Moore sing last night....grrr....by far, he is my favorite male UPC singer.

The music coference is over and I'm ready to be home. Gotta travel for about 11-12 hours in the car today.

They couldn't even finish the concert last night because the spirit of the Lord moved in when Nancy Grandquist took the floor. She really did an awesome job.

I'll write more when I get home. It is 5:45 am here 4:45 at home, Oh my word, I must be nuts for being up this early....oh well:nah
