I am praying for all the people that are enduring extreme cold weather. That the Lord keeps y'all safe and warm. In Jesus name, Amen!!!

I am sure, but some parents are probably going to need prayer. :)

Meanwhile back at the ranch, it's gonna be in the upper 20's tonight and in the 30's tomorrow. Big difference in the same state.

Weren't we going to bed? :D

Many are cold, but a few are frozen. -40 is too cold for me!

Thanks!! I, for one, appreciate the prayers!

Could you also pray that my gas bill next month will be less than half of what I am expecting it to be? It costs a small fortune to heat your house when the weather is this cold :(

Have you seen the ads on TV for Amish heater TV's? It's like a fireplace enclosed and puts out good heat. And unlike space heaters no problem with fires.

Do y'all have a fireplace? We have central heat, but we also have a fireplace and a woodburning stove on our enclosed back porch. No gas, we are all electric. But I do pray that heat fuel for everyone is cheaper than expected. God can do that you know!!!!!!!!!!! Wouldn't that be an awesome testimony?

Thank you Cindy. When I opened this thread I expected those of warmer climate to be rubbing it in... but I was pleasantly surprised. You're so sweet!

I have to go out for some errands this afternoon and I'm not looking forward to it.

Kudos to the "Many are cold but few are frozen" comment... :D Funny funny.

No, unfortunately, no fireplace. But we do have an unvented gas heater in our family room. It really keeps things toasty warm out there. Most of the time, I turn it on one burner and leave it for the day. But lately, it's been 3 burner days. That'll jack my gas bill up for sure :(

You're right. God CAN take care of heat bills. I'm ready to testify! Bring it on, God. I'll give ya the glory.

It's -18 here right now...with windsheild's below -25...the kiddos had school, I went to work and I think I lost some nose hairs while pumping gas...

Yes, it does cost a small fortune to heat your home....$409 last month...can't wait to see this month's bill!

Lord have mercy... I thought mine was bad in the low $300's... whoa... I would be crying. I already do enough belly aching over my heat bills... I dread them every winter.

Yep, I do a little bit of crying each month myself...lol! With having a toddler, you can't put the thermostat below 70 degrees, and I try to keep it at 72 when we are home just for her comfort. It's really bad this year...we have a fireplace (natural gas), but we don't run it that much. It's just too expensive!

I have a friend up there that absolutely believes in his wood stove. He has it downstairs and runs it constantly. It keeps his home at about 75. It takes a special mindset to make it when it is that cold.

God bless!

Whoa! I am feeling much better about our last month's bill. It was $251. I thought that was bad. $409!! I'm praying that ours isn't that high this month tho!
