View Full Version : Arizona had "help"! Scandalous!

Arizona beating the Eagles yesterday may have been "rigged". A player (sorry, I forget who) shortly after the game gave an on-the-air thank-you to none other than Jesus. Is divine assistance allowed, by NFL rules?

LOL!
(But seriously, I forget who said it. I don't follow NFL much, but happened to catch the last quarter or so of the game.)

I live in AZ and I must say that Jesus was the "inside Man" that helped us win yesterday. By the way Kurt Warner goes to a church here that is pastored by a former UPC guy.

Which church does he go too? I have been trying to find it out so I know a little more about his belief system.

He goes to City of Grace, formerly City Church, the Scottsdale campus. He started the Scottsdale campus and then Word of Grace merged with them and now they are City of Grace. He was saved at the church the Shawn Craig pastors in MO, from what I am told. That as you know was a UPC church for a long, long time.

Not true...It happened for me on several occasions in Highschool. Being down by 12 points in under 2 minutes in a basketball game. I was able to score 14 straight while our team kept them score less for the rest of the game, but they had been hot all game and we were able to beat them. After our last time out I said a prayer on my way back on to the court...this was right before I started the scoring.

If God is a Cardinal fan then where has He been all these years? I thought God was omnipotent. :)

so many more times than I can actually remember
heard a message once called "Yes, No, or wait awhile" the minster talked about how God answers us. Sometimes it is yes, other times it is no, and still yet sometimes you just have to wait awhile. I am most familiar with NO I think. =)
I always shake my head when these sports guys give God the glory. I think God cares about the small details in our lives, but He cares about the lives of those in the other team too!!

This reminds me of Bible Quizzing at YFC (Youth For Christ). On the breaks, both sides would huddle and pray, oh so fervently. Struck me as utterly ridiculous.

I think studying would work better! LOL!

Well, there must be a formula involving both the amount of studying and the fervency of the prayers. ;)

I don't think they're giving God glory for winning, but acknowledging that it is God that gave them the talent/ability to do what they do.
