WOW!!! I know pastor Jim Stark well. He used to be my Youth Pastor when I was in Columbus. This was not the church he now pastors. I was also good friends with the two former pastors of that church, Bro. J.K. Stewart (a prince of a Christian if I ever knew one) and Bro. Ferguson. (that one didn't go too well)
I am surprised that he is hosting this.....REALLY surprised! :D

When I went to ABI (1956/1957), Bro. Stewart was (if I remember correctly) a fourth year student and he taught our first year English class. After I came to Ohio in the spring of 1957 I saw him maybe once or twice. I didn't realize that he had been District Superintendent at one time or that he had died until I ordered his book "A Look at Revelation." I read that book a while back and am re-reading it now along with a couple of other books (one by Jack Van Impe and one by the late Dr. M.R. DeHaan) on Revelation.

Bro. Stewart befriended me when he was Dist. Sup. My first time at Ohio Camp, he went out of his way to sit with me at breakfast and talk with me. He always made me special and he was genuine about it. He always called me by name whenever he saw me. He was NOT a "potentate" when it came to holding office.
Bro. Huss Shearer, who was also Dist. Sup, treated me in a similar way even though he was far more con that I was....he was ULTRA-con!!
Bro. Stewart and Bro. Shearer were as different as day and night!! :D

I'm sure others got it too but this came straight from an email LW sent out. I'll paste the text of the email - if I didnt delete it.
No, I cant, I deleted it b/c it came to my *spam* folder and when I delete it, it doesnt go to trash, it's gone.
But LW sent this out himself.

Bro. Sam,
The book by the late Dr. M.R. DeHaan wouldn't have been "The Chemistry
of The Blood", would it!

I think I have Dr. DeHaan's book, "The Chemistry of the Blood," but I was referring to his book on Revelation which I am reading concurrently with Bro. Stewart's book on Revelation and Jack VanImpe's book on Revelation. I just finished chapter 13 in all of them. I have at least two other books on Revelation, one by Hal Lindsey and one by Lehman Strauss. I may have read the Lehman Strauss book before, but if I did, it was quite a few years ago.

I really like Jack Van Impe book on Revelation. Revelation Revealed.

This reminds me of all the reunion rock tours that no one really cares about.I love Marietta and Dave but LW makes me tired!I think he really misses being the center of attention like he was at one time.

wouldn't you?
I asked a friend of mine who is LW's cousin and he confirmed this is really being put on. He also received the email. Marietta is awesome always has been. Dave I can respect. LW, he still has some proving of himself with some folk. Me? I would go if I were in OH only because I have not seen Dave or Marietta in years and it would be great to see them and talk to them again. LW's father and uncle were very good friends of my family when I was growing up.
BTW I still have all those vinyl albums just don't play anymore. They have been played out but I could never bring myself to throw them out. =)

I talked to him at length about this at BOTT...he is very much looking forward to it.
He explained Lannys desire to come back and want to help him do it!
I told him I was proud of him..restoration is one of the heartbeats of God!

is LW wanting back in the UPC circles? He's been pretty active the last several years, just not affiliated with any one group, I dont thing he's been tied to any particular church or group.

I'll never forget Marietta singing "He Who the Son Has Set Free" at a JCM Music Conference back in the 80's! There was such an awesome anointing and move of the Holy Ghost.
Never cared much form LW, but love his songs. Timeless!
He's more wonderful than my mind can conceive!
He's more wonderful than my heart can believe!
He goes beyond my highest hopes and fondest dreams...
Still makes my heart tingle when I hear of think of those lyrics!

That is soooo true! I remember his church playing in softball tournaments and all their shirt sleeves were to their wrists and the girls had to have long skirts on...to play ball in the heat!!!!
It used to be a rocking church tho...not sure who pastors there now...
