Wow. That's horrible. With his age though, if any lawsuit is filed, the monetary amount will be quite small.

On the news here when there is severe weather (hot or cold) they advise people to check on elderly neighbors daily.
I really think the power company should notify people in person if possible. Especially when the weather is so severe.
