Oooh boy!
Some of you may know about my thread titled "Police At My House!"
Well there was a knock on the door tonight & there was a Police Officer with a Social Worker at the door!!
Seems the Sargent who came to the door today when the 911 call came in felt that the kids were being put at risk & that the oldest didn't know what to do!
I said that Kristin my oldest was nervous.

Anyways to make a long story short, the kids will be visited by a Social Worker soon to check out if things are safe.

A man of God came last Sunday & called out my family & while he said God's hand was on my life, he prayed that I wouldn't lose my soul over going through the things I did/was/going to go through without being specific!

Prayers are definitely needed!

Ron

Ron,

Hang in there. I am sure when all is said and done the worst you will have suffered is some embarressment. I am sure once they start to investigate they will find out that your family is well cared for and well adjusted.

Sometimes it is hard to understand why we have to go through some things. Especially when they seem to come one right after another or one in the midst of another.

Times like these are when it is good to go back and revisit the story of Joseph in the bible and the "bumps in the road" (LOL) he endured before his dreams came true.

God is bigger than all this!

I did have that concern when you mentioned your daughter was only 11. What's sad is there are families out there that they REALLY need to look into - this was just a one time thing.

Praying that all will work out soon.

I'll pray Ron.

I sure don't have any grandiose feelings for government social workers.

I'll pray, Ron.

Let me assure you that, at least in America, in MOST places the children's services folks do almost anything they can to leave children with their biological parents. And even when they've done all they can do to keep a family together and they get to the end of their rope and ask a judge for permission to put the kids in foster care, then they have a whole other battle to fight because judges are even MORE reluctant to remove kids.

My guess is that you might get a very stern talking to. But unless they see obvious signs of physical abuse or unless they've investigated more than one little time for "neglect" (which is what they can call it for leaving an 11 year old in charge), I will be shocked if they actually remove your kids from you.

Plus we know a God who loves the little children!! And I KNOW FOR SURE that He'd rather have them with you than with anyone.

Ron, you have my sympathy and of course the prayers of my wife and I. I personally have no use for the CPA here in Ca. and I'm guessing they are the same most places. Leaving the kids to run to the store isn't like going to work and leaving them for hours or going off partying. I feel that everything is going to turn out alright. Just hang in there our God is bigger than the CPA.

Oh, good grief. I will be praying for you, Ron. Hopefully nothing will happen here. I had a friend who was visited by the social worker because her kids liked to play in the doghouse and the neighbors called the police!!

Thanks for the prayers & the kind words!
I don't know down in the States but up in Canada where I live kids can take a babysitter course at 11 years old.

http://www.sja.ca/BCYukon/Documents/Calender_Seniors%20Youth%20and%20Pet%20Courses_BC0 12-08_72_E.pdf

The police officer who came had no issues about it.
The reason she & the social worker came was the first attending officer who is a Sargent came & in her report said that "she felt the kids were being neglected!

Nice huh?

Ron, you've been in my thoughts and prayers on this and your concerns lately. Hang in there. The Sgt. probably just went too far to try and "play it safe." You and your family are total strangers to her. Who knows what "do-gooder" mentality was at work, but she's probably had situations where she never filed a report and regretted it or wondered about things later. Who knows?

I'm certain once they meet you any concerns will be relieved.

They were home without an adult - that's what they are looking at.

The "fear" they showed was probably knowing they were going to get in trouble with DAD when he got home - not that they were scared of being home alone.

Praying for this situation

Probably this is one of those situations where if a certain criteria is met then the officer has to contact the social services, maybe internal rules or even state statutes. There are a lot of nuts out there and they do have to set the gidelines somewhere.

Then when the social worker comes in then they do a preliminary investigation, which in this case they will find nothing wrong and close the case.:thumbsup

We have to remember that Canada is further along the socialist ladder than we are, but not by much!

In faith

My prayer is with you! I know you don't want to hear this but I feel god wanting me to give you the advise. Becareful when speaking with them! They twist inocent statements to accomadate thier agenda. Please look into an attorney and go only through him when making contact with social servicdes! Praying for you and remember God is incontrol!

Hi Mrs, good to see you posting!

Thanks to all for posting & your prayers and concern.
My Pastor feels it is just the enemy being stirred up because he knows that it pushes my button in more ways than one.

I have not heard from them since the Police Officer & the Social Worker came to the door.
They asked at that time to come in & I politely refused & suggested they make an appointment to come another day!:D

They acknowledged my right to do so.:thumbsup

I am walking softly & prayerfully!

Ron,

I just watched a movie I got from the library called Mysterious Ways. It is about a family who an overzealous social worker tries to prosecute. They are an innocent Christian family living their beliefs. Thought you might be interested.

Perfect move. Wisdom. They can be known to bully. Most of these social workers are not parents and have a government knows best attitude. Other than an 11 year old, was there a complaint? Now is time to also do homework. Also do not let your children give permission to them and be alert for their trying to talk to a child without you there at a school.
