For a while we had at least one pretty strong one but I haven't seen any posting on that lately.

Is Branhamism a legitimate branch of Oneness Pentecostalism like Sabbatarians and Johnsonites?

I guess while we're questioning which are legal branches of Oneness Pentecostalism, how about other factions or splinter groups like:
UPC
PAW
ALJC
GIB
ETC
one-steppers
three-steppers
divine flesh
modalists
snake handlers
latter rain
law keepers
magic hair

are folks like those listed above actually saved?
and part of the Body of Christ?

I'm certainly not a Branhamist although I believe God did use Branham. I just think the Branhamists elevate him way too high.

Are Johnsonites a legitimate branch of OP? If we divide the Body, and don't properly discern it, haven't we cut ourselves off from it? If a Johnsonite says that whole portions of the OP movement are lost (ie. UPC, PAW, ALJC, ect...), then doesn't that cause a problem. That's why I'll debate with people and believe some may be wrong on some points, but I won't call them lost unless they have cut the rest of the Body off or adopted a damnable heresy.

As for Branhamism, because they deny the Oneness of GOD, I would not consider them apart of the apostolic church.

As for Sabbatarians, they're a little funny, but as long as they're not cutting others off for not keeping Sabbath, then I would consider them legitimate... Even I enjoy having a few Shabbat traditions on Friday night!

But these are only the thoughts of a 20 year old- what say you? Branhamites- saved or lost?

Branhamites, Johnsonites, three-steppers, one-steppers, sabbath keepers, adoptionists, clothes line preachers, vegetarians, divine flesh, and lots of other little sects, cults, groups, organizations, etc within Oneness Pentecost are often lumped into one group or painted by one broad brush by saying, "Their hearts are right but their heads are wrong."

Sometimes a broad brush is the best way to get the job done! :ursofunny

Hebrews 13:23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty

You have one thing right. That is what Branham Preached. Enjoy your liberty. and don't let anyone destroy your liberty you have in Jesus Christ.

No I am not a Branhamite. I have been in his meetings, and also have his book, Videos. all his mp3 messages, and all his messages in pdf for my study. I also have several Bibles. But that does not make me a Christian. I have been called a holly roller, and that does not make me a Christian. I turned my life over to Jesus, was baptized in Jesus name, received the baptism of the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues. So I would say I am Ambassador of God. If you want to tag me An ite Just call me a Jesusite.:thumbsup No puns intended.

For a while several years ago I was receiving printed copies (booklets) of William Branham's messages. I don't remember now how it started or how it stopped. I haven't received any of those in years. He had some pretty good messages among those. I don't even remember now when I threw them out but I don't have them any more.

The attached pdf file is from page 12 of the October 1947 Pentecostal Herald. It tells about a series of meetings in Vandalia, IL where Bro. William Branham was the speaker. The host pastor was Bro. Reeter who was an official with the Illinois District of the UPC. This goes back to the late nineteen forties when William Branham was preaching in UPC churches.

A follower of the late Bishop S.C. Johnson.
He was the leader of The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith. His followers considered him infallible and in their churches they did not have preaching but listened to tapes of him. After his death that group has splintered but there are still some who gather and listen to his tapes and accept no successor. There are others who claim to be his "real" successor and have their own organizations. S.C. Johnson is considered by many Oneness Pentecostals to be the last Apostle to the Church. He preached Acts 2:38 very strongly. He taught that Jesus was the one true God but that He didn't become the one true God until after being baptized in Jordan. He also taught (I think) that God departed from Him on the cross so He could die as a man.

There are several different groups, sects, organizations, etc. in Oneness Pentecost. The UPC is not the only sect/division/splinter.

In my opinion, the UPC as an organization is not a cult (although it has some of the characteristics of a cult) but some of the local UPC churches are cults.

Sam, I was there and saw some great miracles performed. I would have been 15 at the time and was excited about a teen age preacher named Little David. If I remember correctly Branham held more than one meeting In Vandalia. The meetings were held in a large tent.

I was Born in Vandalia and Bro. Reeter was our pastor when my folks came into PCI in 1939. They were saved in a revival held by Eldon Jay at a little church in Patoka, Illinois.

I agree with Johnny...A Branhamite...no but a Christian, born again, holy ghost filled, baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ...

I do follow the Bible teachings of Bro Branham and do believe he was Prophet sent from God.

The Lord Jesus Christ is my Savior, Healer and Friend, it is Him serve and look forward to seeing when He returns to catch His Bride away. It don't matter if I am alive and remaining or go by way of the grave.

To say I am a Branhamite because I believe what he taught from the Bible....that's ok, if it makes people feel better, but first and foremost..I am a Holy Ghost filled Christain. :))

Rev. William Branham was one of the greatest Prophets this world ever had walking on it. As I stated in another thread, God has never had anyone qualified working for Him yet. That includes Brother Branham. All of us are gonna be in flesh until we leave this mortal realm. Yes, there are people who lift Brother Branham way too high on a pedestal. But he was mightily used of the Lord.

That is all I will say on this subject.

Of course, we're all just supposed to ignore the blatant contradiction staring us all in the face here. :spit

If the quotes I have read of what Branham said is true. Then this man was not of God and not a Prophet. Qualified? Have you not read your bible? There are qualifications that must be met in order to be a Bishop and a Deacon. What would make you think there are no qualifications to be a prophet?

Luke 7:28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

It would seem that there is a pretty long line....
