I told you they are a selfish bunch - that is why I did not want to be around them in person - that stuff can jump off on you!

Posted from another thread...
Tomorrow is the big day, and I'm excited. I met Sherri and Renda today. Renda is crazy. She's also bossy, as OneAccord once stated.
Lisa called but I didn't get to see her before I left (I had another commitment elsewhere), but I'll see her and her daughter tomorrow. I met Darcie's husband briefly also.
I'll be taking lots of pics!

Okay, there were a lot of people that said they were coming that aren't getting to come now, so last night was very small as in NOBODY hardly - - Sherri, One Accord, Foreverblessed and her daughter, myself met at the church for a little while.
Then Foreverblessed, her daughter and myself went on to Sherri's house and had a girl's night waiting for GraceAmazing to arrive (around midnight). No pictures were taken.
We just got up and we are moving slow........we'll mess around the house a while, then take off shopping until we meet at church later this afternoon.
Only expected around 20-25 now tonight.
Is is so wrong to tell someone how you want the tables set up?

I'm on briefly as I have to get ready for the dinner soon. Renda, Sherri, Lisa, her daughter, GraceAmazing, myself and my daughter went out shopping and ate lunch today. We took pics, but I can't post them because it's Sherri's camera. But I'll be taking pics tonight and will post them Monday.
As for the men, all I know is that Raven and his wife showed up and OneAccord was going to meet them. I'm sure Raven's wife is so totally bored.
I'm looking forward to seeing who shows up tonight, but there is plenty of food!!
And Stephen, thanks for the coffee. I might take another bag if nobody else shows up to claim theirs!!

I'd recognize Bro Epley anywhere! He's the guy down in front with the multi-colored hat, right?

I knew it was him cuz he's the only one there without at least one shoulder exposed for all to see. You know Bro Epley - there would be no bare shoulders for him. In fact, I'm willing to bet he was preaching at the rest of those sinners for their attire. I see he even has his head covered. Can't do much better than that, right? LOL

Well, supper was great. There were 15 who showed up, and those of you who promised to but didn't, well, you really missed out on some fun.
I'm on a hotel computer and cannot post pics, but we all got plenty. Maybe Renda or Sherri can start a thread just for those and I'll post mine on Monday.
Those in attendance were:
OneAccord-who did an excellent job in setting up a place for some Pentecostal memorabilia from his personal collection and had some interesting reads. Special thanks to him for helping to bring this all together.
Renda-who was great also in the coordination of this event and the decorations. She also did the food ordering, and the catering was excellent! Special thanks to her for her kindness to myself personally...she's a great person, and I didn't deserve such a wonderful gesture.
Foreverblessed and her daughter, Bekah-who are my special friends that I've known for a long time now, and it was nice seeing Lisa again after not seeing her for so long. Bekah is quite the grown up girl, and a beautiful soul.
Raven and his wife-it was wonderful meeting such fine people. Both are gentle folks that make you feel like you've known them for a long time. They drove a long way just to meet us and had to get back, and I'm thankful they did.
Sherri and Eddie-special thanks to them for hosting the event. They are wonderful people and I'm looking forward to Eddie's preaching in the morning. Sherri is just like she is here, and I feel like I've known her a long time.
Tcovey and husband-these are great people to get to know. I didn't spend much time with them personally, but I've heard a lot about them and would love to see them again sometime. Thanks to them for coming.
GraceAmazing-this girl just kills me! She is so easy-going and we talked and shopped and it was fun! We also listened to her CD while we ate, and she does an AMAZING job. Special thanks to her for coming, as her drive is also a long one.
Darcie and her husband-it was so nice to meet the total opposite of Dan Alicea (:D). Her boy looks just like his uncle, and her daughter is so cute. It was wonderful meeting them and talking with them, and I'll see them again in the morning as well.
And there was my daughter and I. I'm glad my Becca was able to come with me, and she was happy to meet everyone as well. She had a fun time shopping with us women!
Pics are forthcoming, but they don't do it justice. You just had to be there!!

Well, the much anticipated Gathering has come and gone. Though we hoped more could have joined us- it was what it was- a time of fellowship and fun. A chance to meet some folks, renew old accqauintances- and put some faces to some names that I have come to regard as more than just friends- family. I appreciate all who came, and thank you all for making this first ever Gatheriing a success. And it was. Maybe not what we were expecting- maybe not what we hoped for- but... a beginning. And beginnings are successes in the making.
Renda put together a great meeting. I give her all the credit because... well... she did most of the work. A class act if there ever was one, who knows how to get things done.
And, I want to say things to Bro. Eddie and Sis Sherri and the Truth and Love staff for alowig us to invade their beautiful facilities for our little Gathering. Great people who have a heart for the people of Jackson.
I guess this Gathering was a learning experience. We learned what it takes to put one of these things together. And, learning is also a success.
So, the question is, was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! Would I do it again? Thats a big 10-4! In fact.... well... I'll save that for another time. Anyway... thank you all for coming. Thank you Steven Hoover family for the coffee and teas. Now... time to go to church at Love and Truth....

I just got home from Jackson and had three hours of reflecting. It was a nice time and now it's back to my normal life. However, now that I've met so many wonderful people, I can't say that I'll ever be the same.
Service this morning was great, and I enjoyed Pastor Eddie's preaching. We took lots of pics again today and those will be posted whenever people get a chance......mine will be tomorrow evening.
Special thanks again to everyone who come and/or contributed to this event. Like OA said...I'd do it again.

It was really great getting to meet Lisa (FB) and her daughter, Joy (HO) and her daughter and the Ravens all for the first time! I'm adding to my list of AFF'ers that I've met in person!
Melissa (GA), Rick (One Accord) and I went to the 8:30 service, then everyone else attended the 9:30 service and OA went ahead and left. Lisa and her daughter stayed for the first half of the third service and the rest of us headed home!
Lisa and Bekka, and Melissa will be on the road for many more hours - - I pray they have traveling mercies!
A good time was had by all!
Lisa, Bekka, Melissa and I stayed at Sherri's and both nights we had girls night - - it was fun!

I am also glad I got to visit Love and Truth church. I have been telling my girls about the church and youth program for a while now. I really wanted to experience it. I loved the two services I was able to be in... the preaching was great, I enjoyed the worship....especially in the Edge. The presence of God was so strong, I was like "ok Lisa, get a grip, stop crying" but the tears just flowed... I held back actually.
I have always loved TN and have always wanted to live there... so, on the way down, I was talking to my "forever best friend" about my desire to live in TN...and I was checking things out while I was there... He kept telling me that his state was beautiful too... but there is more to places than beautiful scenery.... churches are important and Love and Truth has a good thing going.
We really enjoyed the services and would love to be there on a Wed night... we will probably have to make a trip in the future to be there mid week.
