Our 30th anniversary was actually last year, but we had to cancel our planned trip because we had so much going on at church, and missions trips, etc. So we are leaving Monday for France and Italy to celebrate 30 years+ together! I'm really excited, but haven't packed a thing yet.

The best part is.........we have free flights the whole way (Memphis - Paris - Florence - Rome - Memphis), and free hotels except for the last night in Rome, which I snagged on Hotwire. I know credit cards can be lethal if you don't handle them right and pay them off monthly, but I'm thankful for the points that we accumulate that allow us to travel free. Plus we have racked up a lot of airline miles lately, with international travel.

I will try to post pictures when I get home. There's no free wireless where we're going, so I probably won't take my computer.

Sherri............there's always free Wi-Fi somewhere between here and there.....that's no excuse for delaying the pics!!! :D

We want minute by minute updates................unless, of course this is a second honeymoon!!! LOL

Have a great time!!!

Also, I love your style when it comes to traveling......airline miles from credit cards use is a real blessing. We run as much as we can through our corporate AmEx Platinum card which gives us miles for every dollar. Just because we all don't have "scads" of cash doesn't mean we can't enjoy what God made!

I have stocked up on Germ-X wipes, Clorox wipes, Purell hand sanitizer, and I even have a UV Nano-wand that I bought for Kenya, but I'm taking it on this trip too. You wave it over any surface for 10 seconds, and the light kills 99.99% of all germs, including salmonella, ecoli, and common germs that cause colds and flu. It will be a great thing for missions trips!

I am now officially packed, except for last minute toiletries. In the morning, I have to run to the post office to stop the mail, to the bank to get money (VERY important), and by the church for some last minute stuff. We will leave for Memphis around 10:30 AM!

And John Ragsdale is coming next Sunday, so L & T won't even miss us!!

When we were flying home last night, I saw one of these things in the Sky Mall catalog and wondered how well they worked.

Hey, I'm in Paris!!! I have had exactly one hour sleep since Sunday night, but I'm going strong. We are staying at this fabulous hotel right off the Champs Elysee, and we are just a couple blocks from the Arc de Triomphe. We walked to the Eiffel Tower - it's MASSIVE (I had no idea!).

We had lunch at this little crepe place where the women were making the crepes right in the center of the room. I took a picture, but I can't put any pictures on until I get home.

I'm using the internet at this hotel and it's $24 for 30 minutes, so I will be very brief, and you may not see me check in for a few days!!!

BTW, the taxi ride from the airport to the hotel was $75. I'm so thankful that we got all the freebies on the front end, because this trip is already proving to be expensive!

I've seen the Eiffel Tower in Paris.........Tennessee! :ursofunny

It's twenty feet tall! It was donated to the city by the University of Memphis! Just a small replica of the real thing! (Kind of like some so-called Christians I know! :uhoh)

Well, I am in Rome - our last night of vacation!! I have loved this trip - we've had so much fun and eaten extremely well. I have decided just to enjoy it and not worry about the amount that all the food costs! I saw a tuna fish sandwich today for $24! I had saved up enough money in advance to cover all the food and transportation here, because I knew it would be way different than in Tennessee. I will try to never gripe again about food costs at home!!!

I have missed you all and hope to catch up on all the news when I get home. Has anyone caused any major trouble? Anyone get banned? Have I missed anything important???
