I hope she has a better experience than I had - went to youth camp once and hated it and NEVER went back :)

My oldest daughter is going back for her third year, and has loved it every year. This year my youngest gets to go as well. It seems a lot more organized and supervised than it used to be. (At least, here in Oklahoma.)

I had good and bad experiences--when I was younger, I went to an ALJC camp that was a lot of fun, and I knew a lot of the kids there. I went to the UPC camp in Arkansas when I was about 14, and hated every minute of it. (mainly because I didn't know anyone--I had gone with another church youth group.)

It was at Arkansas camp that I was introduced to the idea of girls and boys sneaking off to make out during service. I was shocked to my core. LOL!!!!! I even remember one of the girls' names who was bragging to a friend about making out with her boyfriend in his truck--but I won't say it. :D

I went to UPC camp in St. Louis one year--it was pretty fun. I didn't go back to camp after the AR. camp--it kind of ruined the experience for me. I preferred to spend my summers with my nose buried in books anyway.

Let her go - it will do her good. My most precious childhood memories were of Buckeye Lake Church Camp!!!!:thumbsup

My fondest memories are of church camp every summer; I waited for it all year long! I pray that God will do a mighty work in her life this year.

LOL....well, I'm glad that I'm older than you - I know I wasn't there when you were. Plus, there wasn't any "making out" when I went. You were lucky to even hold hands.
