I am not posting any thing from jp only an update of what has taken place.

Rev. Renfro is focusing on other things now.

I hope administration does not mind this thread.

I believe they are.

We in our Pentecostal jargon sometimes use the term to refer to those in the five fold ministry, but by a literal definition, you are right!

Hello, Coonskinner here.

I am using my wife's log in since I have been a little scarce around these parts lately.

Just to clear up a little something:

There is no "behind the scenes, rest of the story."

There has been NO infighting on the admin team at JP, and there is NO juicy, salacious reason why Brother Renfro has decided to step back from the forum ownership deal at this time.

I hate to disappoint my old buddy Mark, but this is the absolute truth.

You have my word on that.

Brothers White and Renfro are both close friends of mine, and we have all been in communication with one another throughout the whole very short, and seamless process of transition.

No policies are being changed, no drastic shifts of any kind.

Sorry to disappoint the folks looking for a little entertainment, but I'm afraid we're having the same old boring business as usual over yonder, just slapping each other on the back about how right we are, taking turns saying "Amen," and affirming each other. ;)

Good to see some of my old friends hanging around.

Blessings,

CS

We are one family, not always a happy family, but one family.

I've been places where I felt like Joseph.
I recognized my brothers but they didn't recognize me.
But they are still my brothers.

I was kinda kidding when I asked those questions about JP.
I would not be comfortable there.
I recently had posts deleted and received the left foot of disfellowship
from a Ministers Only group on an Apostolic forum. I was told my posts
were not "Apostolic doctrine." The man in charge is young and does not realize that the UPC was formed to give equal status to both one-steppers and three-steppers and that three-step doctrine is a later innovation in Apostolic Pentecost. Some one called it the "Campbellite Captivity" of the church.

No offense Elders Epley, Coonskinner, and others.
Keep preaching it the way you see it.
You have to be true to your convictions/opinions.

Hey, I don't have to join JP to get bashed.
I can get that on Facebook.

I recently posted the following in an Apostolic/Pentecostal group on Facebook under the subject, "God in Three Persons"

This is a quote by Daniel Segraves from his blog. It is dated January 20, 2009.

Daniel Segraves is Assistant Professor of Biblical Theology at Urshan Graduate School of Theology (Florissant, MO) and Professor Emeritus at Christin Life College (Stockton, CA). He is a minister with the United Pentecostal Church.

The word "person" has changed its meaning since the third century when it began to be used in connection with the "threefoldness of God". When we talk about God as a person, we naturally think of God as being one person. But theologians such as Tertullian, writing in the third century, used the word "person" with a different meaning. The word "person" originally derives from the Latin word "persona", meaning an actor's face-mask- and, by extension, the role which he takes in a play.

By stating that there were three persons but only one God, Tertullian was asserting that all three major roles in the great drama of human redemption are played by the one and the same God. The three great roles in this drama are all played by the same actor: God. Each of these roles may reveal God in a somewhat different way, but it is the same God in every case. So when we talk about God as one person, we mean one person in the modern sense of the word, and when we talk about God as three persons, we mean three persons in the ancient sense of the word...Confusing two senses of the word "person" inevitably leads to the idea that God is actually a committee..

This is part of a blog titled Oneness-Trinitarian Pentecostal Dialogue which can be found at
http://danielsegraves.blogspot.com/2009/01/oneness-trinitarian-pentecostal.html
---------------------------

I got two responses. One was from a Baptist (and former Oneness Pentecostal) who liked it and one from a Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal preacher who didn't. This is the response from the Oneness minister:

What a filthy devilish deceiver you are James Ellis. Scum like you are the filth that pollutes the UPCI. Just look at the devilish scum who agreed with you.

I have obeyed Gal 1:8 regarding you James Ellis. You are no more Oneness than the pope.

Can someone help me and explain why a Pentecostal Preacher would be ban from Just Preachers.com?

When I sign on, this is the message I get:

You have been banned for the following reason:
Be blessed

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

I have never engaged in any discussions, only took a few surveys and answered the question open and honest and now I'm ban.

I have sent emails to them several times asking why I was ban and never got a reply, just seem real strange. I was wondering if anyone else ever had this problem.

I signed up for JP on Monday or Tuesday, never did get the moderator approval. Either they are slow on aproving or I am just too liberal.

That guy doesn't sound any more Christian than the Ayahtollah....

LOL!

I bet you'll get approved now after they read this here!

This is the message I get. no reply to my e-mail as to why?

You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

All I did was ask Ron to make his poll a simple YES or NO, with out the sacastic remarks following those replys.
The thread was about: Do you think a women will be lost for wearing pants.

I was always extremely respectful in my few posts there.

Are you ***** ********?
If a poster has used a screenname for over a decade of online posting....maybe he prefers not having his specific identity used publicly by those who may know it (or have a logical guess) from another location that requires it.

Or perhaps he would have "integrity" & not post anything from another forum as it is against Forum rules.

Even if he is no longer there, ethics is ethics!:thumbsup

I believe you just broke AFF's rule about revealing a poster's identity.

Your view of ethics is very, very skewed.

yeah, the edit clock is mighty short here at Happytown AFF.
Maybe that's a hangover from when all the conservative people (read: those who stick knives in outlets) were the owner/rulers.

Now that we all ride motorcycles in our shorts, maybe the edit clock could be more liberal also, maybe opened up to 24 hrs?

Yikes! Shoot I miss all the fun. I only mentioned a first name from over there. Not a last name. It was a very vague post refering to a thread from "over there".

I'm sure "over there" is a very happy place. Everybody loves everybody, at least the chosen ones they let in.

You can still read my posts "over there" Try to figure what I said that was a banable infraction.

Yup...somebody from "over there" figured I was somebody they did'nt agree with from "over here" ,at this den of iniquity.

I got sent down the shoots quicker than Sadamm Hussein at his hanging.

But being UPC all these years..well I have known a few who controlled with the iron fist, so it came as no big surprise.

Love ya all from "over there" :heart:heart ....:smack

For what it’s worth, my personal experience on JP:

By and large, I have found the majority of Admin there to be fair the majority of the time. Even when in the overwhelming minority on some issues my viewpoint was treated with deference by the Admin.

I have never had a problem with it being a closed group, even before I joined.

I understand the need of some to feel they need to let their hair down so to speak and just be themselves and therefore feel the need for it to be a closed forum.

Personally, I don't have that issue because what you see is pretty much what you get. And I go ahead and assume that all my posts are public regardless.

Yes in my opinion occasionally there is bashing there, keeping in mind that in all seriousness one person’s bashing can be another’s lamenting. It all depends on one’s perspective. And in my personal opinion there is often less there than here.

Considering the narrow confines of that forum’s focus the Administration there is often faced with difficult decisions. And as much as possible within those confines different viewpoints are allowed.

Don't know what you did over there, or even where that particular "over there" is but I was in one of those "over there" places some time back when I was point blank asked baout my view on salvation by one of the moderators. He seemed kind enough and the question innocent enough so I innocently answered.... BAM! the ax fell before I could move my head off the block.

After several inquiries I fanally got an answer from the administration as to why I was banned... oh well it's a lot more fun over here than it is "over there."

The funny thing is that you don't read saint bashing there.

Men of God love saints.

With all due respect Sis CS, I was on there fore 24 hours and read what was being posted before I was banned. There were pastors who were getting death threats, and some having problems with saints asking advice what to do about. I think the same banter in the reverse is true of every forum.

Blessings, Rhoni

Not that we have to answer, but I will. LOL!

Because previously someone posted his complete name and we deleted it.

Then, OP posted another name and we just edited it also and let both those two know that you aren't suppose to "try" to out someone that has chosen to remain anonymous here.

How ya doing?
