The power of online communication is becoming increasingly evident within our movement. It is no wonder that some want to restrict access to AFF, and other sites.

If access is restricted, truth can be managed.

If access is unrestricted, topics that are taboo, elsewhere, become fair game.

It has been said that "he who owns the information, controls it."

True, no?

A free Pentecostal press is very, very important.

And that's why I thank God for places like Facebook and AFF.

Currently, there is an attempt by the Facebook Holiness Police to marginalize men and women who do not conform to "traditions."

Pictures have been posted on forums and blogs so that "Holy Men of God" can gloat over "departures from the faith."

In my mind, that type of online communication is nothing short of an online flesh market.

Pictures posted for the expressed purpose of seeing who is "holy" and who is not.

Sick.

Very, very sick.

I do agree that sites like this and several others have opened my eyes to the varied beliefs that are out there in our fellowship. It has also made me dig into the scriptures and prayerfully reassess (not necessarily change) my stand on several issues. I do not think that is a bad thing! If an organization is solidly grounded in the scriptures, then exposure and discussion cannot shake your position.

I agree....sick, very sick indeed. Actually not much different than that apostle Paul persecuting God's children, albeit with innocence and zeal! Wrong as someone going the opposite direction on a one way street! :D
