Forty nine years ago today, I gave birth to my firstborn. A tiny little
baby girl, weighing barely 5 lbs. In 1960, June 19th was on a Sunday,
Father's Day!
What a joy she has been all these years. A blessing, an encouragement,
and an example of what a lady of God should be. Wife of 27 yrs., mother
of five fine sons and mother in law to the eldest son's wife. My daughter
claims her as the "daughter she never had".
Glenna was the valedictorian of her class of 1978. Her first cousin, a boy,
was Salutatorian that same year. Both were chosen to receive the coveted
Birmingham scholarships that year. For the first time in history, they were
allowed to use them at a UPC Bible School in Texas. Her cousin's sister was
chosen the next year to receive and use this scholarship at TBC. She was
her class Salutatorian. Glenna sang in an open football stadium in our city,
"Only One Life", words by Lanny Wolfe. You could have perhaps heard a pin
drop on the metal bleachers as this young lady sang in a beautiful clear voice
full of emotion:
Only one life, so soon it will pass,
Only what's done for Christ will last.
Only one chance to do His Will,
So give to Jesus all your days, for
It's the ONLY life that pays, when
You recall, You have but one life.
Just wanted to say how thankful we are for our firstborn daughter, as well
as her siblings. BUT today is HER day.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GLENNA GAIL !!! WE LOVE YOU!
(she'll probably want to kill me for this, but sometimes a mother just can't
resist!:mama)

You have every right to be proud of your daughter and I'm sure she is just as proud to have you for a mother. Congratulations to you both!

Bro. Tim,
My late grandmother was such an influence on my life. I am endeavoring
by the Lord's mercy and grace, to leave my fingerprints on my grandchildren.
All 20 of them!:thumbsup
