I have never used Space Bags before - you know, the kind you fill and then attach the vacuum and suck out all the air??????? I bought some to use for packing all these kid's/pastor's clothes to take to Kenya and voila! I have about twice as much room in my luggage!! Who knew?
Anyway, now I am hooked. I am sucking the air out of everything packable. LOL!

You still have to watch the weight, air doesn't weight much!:ursofunny
Sherri, we got some at a local store this spring & they do work!
Our Down Comforters & winter clothes are all packed underneath the beds in those bags at a fraction of the space!
We are impressed as well!

Sherri, I posted this on Facebook too................. but I wanted to make sure you knew..............
Aldi's has a box of 3 large SpaceBags for only $4 on sale right now. You might want to check with your local Aldi's to see if they are carrying them at that price. I checked at Bed, Bath & Beyond today and they are $19.99 there! That's alot of difference in price. Stock up!

I will look online and see if Aldi's is offering them there. Thanks for the info!

And to think I could've used my brain 30yrs ago and marketed this..maybe been a millionaire by now., long before they've become so famous. I used to sell Rainbow vacuums in my late teens and as part of their 'supplies' or 'attachments' they included a huge bag with a hole built in to insert a vacuum hose into to suck out the air once one inserted a mattress (small one I guess) in that large bad, in order to air out the mattress or similar object. *shrug*
Its been EONS I don't remember all the details all I know is that it was/is the same system now used to market Space Bags., it worked then and of course, it works now., although the objective now is to "shrink" items of clothing, or whatever.
The "mattress" would shrink incredibly thin! As it sucked out the air around it., the object was to refresh the mattress removing bad odors, etc, in essence, refreshing it., RAINBOWS are now scarce, and/or so largely changed, they barely resemble what once was;
but a part of it, its 'child' LOL has gone onto to its very own lifestyle of the rich and famous. :D
Ah Sherri,
One tip, please don't scream out, "Space Bags are the Bomb!" as you go through customs!:foottap

They ARE great to store down comforters and other bulky winter things. I've not used them for travel but it makes sense....

When taken out of the space bags do the comforters go back to their original shape and fluffiness?

When taken out of the space bags do the comforters go back to their original shape and fluffiness?Yes! I took a comforter and pillows to the UPS store to ship to my daughter in CA, and they used one of these to shrink them down to ship. When I saw the package, I kind of panicked, but she said when she opened the plastic up, it went right back to normal size. Very cool!!
