Sad.
Back in the 80's my wife and I were watching that Motown show live on TV when he did the moonwalk for the very first time publicly and it was astounding. Our mouths were hanging open and I had goose bumps on my arms as he appeared to be doing the impossible.
In his prime he was an incredible enterainer. I hated to see him deteriorate in every aspect of his life from that prime.
I will be praying for his family.

Now Now, don't be like that. We have been hearing so much of FF long before she died. We had to watch her documentary. We had to see the reruns of the documentary. We heard about her everyday on Good Morning America, The Today Show, etc. FF really did have her moment in the spotlight. It is okay for MJ to have these moments. Even if you don't want to admit it, the world loved Michael Jackson.
I grew up with him in the 80s and I am sad to hear of his death. He was a man with issues but you can't deny his musical ability.

Yeah, he did do that quite frequently. Shhh dont tell anyone, but I loved his music as a kid. Even though I am saved now, there is still appreciation for the music.

I snuck out of church with my cousin to watch MJ perform Billie Jean on Motown's 25th anniversary. We got in trouble but it was worth it.
I have a question about MJ's death. Do you think or know that he is in hell? I was on Facebook and could not believe how Jesus Name people could be so cruel and judgmental. We all know that MJ was a JW. On FB they were making jokes about MJ's face melting in hell and other cruel jokes. I felt offended for the family. I told them that they should not be judging him no matter what. He had his issues but the bottom line is that MJ did not have a normal life but was still was a human. Human's have feelings and that included MJ. I told them that it's really sad that for all those who know the truth, have the love of God in them could be so cruel. Instead of making jokes about his death, they should be praying for the family to find comfort. MJ's three kids no longer have a father. He was not a freak to them but "daddy." They came back at me qouting every scripture about being born of the water and spirit. I know them all that was not my point. My point was that they should not be so judgmental because I am sure there are some who were baptized Jesus Name in hell. They didn't get it. I realized that I was dealing with ignorant people. So glad I no longer go to that church.

But in all fairness let's be real.
This man, MJ, was a perverse man who chose a lifestyle because he like it. Regardless of his musical talents it does not change the facts that he was effeminate, that he delved into witchcraft, he was a sexual deviant, that he was a pervert towards children, ... how much more must be said?
Am I sorry that someone died? Absolutley! There was nothing in his lifestyle lately that even hints that he had changed, the Bible says judge righteous judgment! It appears that MJ died in an unrepentive state and if that is the case I am saddened for THAT FACT and that fact alone!
I was not impressed with his crotch grabbing, perverted twisted lifestyle, his style of music, his child pursuing ways, at all! He was no better and no worse than Liberace! I mourn no more or no less than if my neighbor, who is a public nobody, dies unsaved!
If we are to mourn over this death let's keep it in context with Christianity and mourn for a lost soul, keeping in mind that he chose the lifestyle that he was in! His music was not conducive to Christianity, I mean, at least Elvis when he was alive sang at least a little Gospel to keep up some facades!
Excuse my ranting, dismiss it if you will, but let's keep this thing in proper context!

I grew up in that era when thriller was a big thing. I could read the newspaper as can anyone.
Let's see!
1- Effiminate- look at the pictures, can you come to any other conclusion?
2- Witchcraft - Thriller.
3- Perverse - The constant public accusations of pursuing children,... the man paid $20 million dollars to the parents of a child in order for them to drop a suit against him for child sexual assault!
Friend, how else should I read this situation?

Yesterday was tough ... pretty sad day. I grew up listening to MJ ... even left a Gen Conference service to try and catch one of his live concerts that was on television when I was about 11 or 12. I loved MJ. His music was incredible back in the day; his dance moves were amazing.
I know the man's lifestyle wasn't right. He had a lot of troubling issues. I'd rather not read about him burning in hell or bad jokes about his lifestyle, etc. Some pentecostals almost seem to revel in the deaths of celebrities and their being in hell. It's sad.
I am not saying MJ was perfect but if all you got is the media to make your claims then you need to be finding a better source...
So seeings how you know him so close and personal like, tell us what he was really like! You tell me not to use media to verify my claims then throw a media clip at me to substantiate yours? Funny!

You know, it is so easy to pass judgement when it is not us or our loved ones. Please let's pray that this be a wake up call for the world. God can come and require your sould at any moment. Your earthly status makes no difference. Let us pray that the family will receive a wake up call and become born again heirs to the kingdom of God.
It is prayer time! There is no help for his soul as it is already gone. But there truly is help for those who are still alive.

Thank you for your detailed mourning instructions. We are not to mourn him as a person of talent, but merely as a lost soul... Not as a human being, but just in the context of Christianity.
Meh. Dismissed. ;)
When I was a kid I listened to MJ alot, tried the moonwalking, robot dancin moves.... at about 12-13 yrs old. Got in trouble on the school bus for playing his "beat it" too loud. The "Thriller" video was cool back in the day, as a kid. The MJ fad for me lasted about 1 yr. Pepsi made some big bucks off of him, tho they (or someone)probably had to pay for his hair being burned up during the big fireworks boom on stage in 1 video.
I think its safe to say MJ was far from being born again. If anybody was messed up in the past 15-20 yr.'s, years, he was. I wish he wouldve focused on eternity more, instead of other things(yikes!)

You know, it is so easy to pass judgement when it is not us or our loved ones.
Yes, indeed.
I propose that every nominal Christian TRY to be a Christian Hypocrite in the opposite direction of what we typically see.
For example, I personally, viscerally, feel zero, no sadness for the death of MJ, since much of my life I've been offended, at least by the symbology and perverted imagery MJ chose to bring into homes as much as he could--for his own riches and grandeur. But if I'm supposed to be a child of the God who taught us that anyone can love their friends, but instead "Love my neighbor as myself," then at the very least I'm not going to glory and joke around the event of the death of the unsaved. I may be allowed to quietly say, "Whew" if a bad influence is removed from the earth, but that's all. My rhetoric at least ought to match what I believe, even if I don't "feel" any love, as in this case I don't. (A Christian hypocrite.)
[Fanciful idea--
What if God instead punished those who make fun of the eternal destiny of MJ?
"You think it's so funny? Here, have a taste yourself."
(Drop kick--boom, thump, right into hell. Would that be wrong?]

I am very sad for his children and anyone who loved him. However, if he did molest children, they are much safer now.
Michale Jackson was such an incredible performer. I watched some of his old music videos and he really had an amazing stage presence. It makes a person wonder what happened to him. He became almost an entirely different person. I'm sure the younger generation wondered what the fuss was about this weird guy.

I sincerely wish that Michael Jackson wasn't the third one!
His, "Will You Be There" song from the movie, "Free Willy" is my all-time favorite Michael Jackson song.
I have tears for the loss of this musical genius-- his death is a loss to modern humanity!

I will miss MJ because he represents an era of my life. My own mortality is becoming more apparent as those that influenced me in different eras of my life are passing on.
My favorite MJ song: "Man in the Mirror"
I'm Gonna Make A Change,
For Once In My Life
It's Gonna Feel Real Good,
Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right . . .
As I, Turn Up The Collar On My
Favourite Winter Coat
This Wind Is Blowin' My Mind
I See The Kids In The Street,
With Not Enough To Eat
Who Am I, To Be Blind?
Pretending Not To See
Their Needs
A Summer's Disregard,
A Broken Bottle Top
And A One Man's Soul
They Follow Each Other On
The Wind Ya' Know
'Cause They Got Nowhere
To Go
That's Why I Want You To
Know
I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change)
(Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,
Na Nah)
I've Been A Victim Of A Selfish
Kind Of Love
It's Time That I Realize
That There Are Some With No
Home, Not A Nickel To Loan
Could It Be Really Me,
Pretending That They're Not
Alone?
A Willow Deeply Scarred,
Somebody's Broken Heart
And A Washed-Out Dream
(Washed-Out Dream)
They Follow The Pattern Of
The Wind, Ya' See
Cause They Got No Place
To Be
That's Why I'm Starting With
Me
(Starting With Me!)
I'm Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm Asking Him To Change
His Ways
(Ooh!)
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World

Ways
(Change His Ways-Ooh!)
And No Message Could've

If You Wanna Make The World

That Man, That Man, That
Man, That Man

Yeah Yeah!
Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,

Just Lift Yourself
You Know

That is my point. MJ was accused of so many things. The media bashed him, people made fun of him. Yes, in his older years he became weird. My thing is that if we have God in our hearts, how can anyone judge MJ? That is God's job. It really bothered me when friends from church were making jokes about MJ's face melting in hell and they laughed about it. I told them to remember he has family that is hurting. He has three kids who lost their father. How would they feel if their loved one died and people made jokes about them being in hell burning? I got no response. What I tried telling them that instead of bashing the poor guy, they should be praying for MJ's kids and family. I have read some people here say they could care less about his death. Well I guarantee that he has family and friends who care. No matter how way out there he was, he still was human. We do not know the hell he went through his whole life. Never having a "normal" childhood or life. Even though he was a 50 year old man, I think he had the heart and soul of a child. I am sure his life was a lonely one. And as Christian's we should be more compassionate. Everybody I'm sure knows the scripture about throwing stones. We can't do that but we can pray for comfort.

Wow, you really think humanity has had a great loss because of this musical ability? Not for any other reason? A sad loss for his family and friends, but I don't think he offered humanity anything other than he could sing and dance. God gave him a voice, and he worked hard at learning to dance. Nothing genius about him. IMO

I grew up with him in the 80s and I am sad to hear of his death. He was a man with issues but you can't deny his musical ability.
I grew up hearing him too. I can appreciate some of his stuff but his whole persona just does it for me. I have a hard time listening knowing he was such a strange one.
Besides FF was SOOOOOOOO much prettier than he ever would have been, white or black. =) (sorry couldn't resist)
Yeah his music ability is undeniable... if you can get past the accompanying images of a him grabbing his own crotch on stage.
and how many other copycats do the same stupid move OVER AND OVER until you just want to vomit? Like they think is was some magnificant thing. It was things like that which made it hard to really like him. (even before all the other things started coming up)
I'll just say this about MJ...
The Jackson Five's earlier hits with Michael were my favorite I suppose, however, there is one of MJ's songs from the 80s that I have always loved.
He and Lionel Richie were asked to write a song for USA For Africa. The organizers contacted music and film 'stars', and they recorded We Are The World.
That recording and video taping sparked a thought in the mind of Lanny Wolfe, and he wrote Together We Can Make A Difference with the same premise, that of pooling the talented resources of the United Pentecostal Church.
I wish I could remember the verses...
Anyway, We Are The World has been floating through my mind since I heard the news.

I wasn't aware you knew all the "Jesus Name people" that are on fb.

Money brings out the weird in people. They think they are like gods.
But I am not bashing MJ just after his death. It was sad and I pray for the family.
There's a huge trend among the rich and the famous both. It may have something to do with Jesus saying it was easier for a camel to fit thru the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom.
I'm always saddened when I hear of a death. And it always causes me to think of eternity. The old song that says "only one life, so soon it will pass, only what's done for Christ will last"
Life is like a vapor. That's why my biggest concern in life is not how well educated I can get my children (though that IS a concern)... but how can I make sure I lead them in the Way.

I wish he had found a true place of repentance but Thank God the pervert is dead and no more children will be abused. If he had had no talent, the last number of yrs. of his life would of been spent in prison.
liberty and jusice for all ..... who can afford it ? !

I just do not understand how so called christians can be so crude and judgemental towards another human being. How can any of you say the things you are saying (child molester, witchcraft, pervert, wierdo...) unless you knew this person personally and witnessed these events? My parents taught me that " if you can't say something nice JUST DON'T SAY ANYTHING" maybe some of you here need to learn this lesson. MJ has a family that is mourning right now. Do you not have any compassion for these people? Can you not have any compassion for the man that lost his life at such a young age? Can you not stop the name calling and either show some respect or else just keep you negative mouths shut!

Wah, wah wah!!!!!
Sorry, not backing down on this one!
Read the newspapers silly! Wake up and smell the coffee! You have your opinion that he was next to God, I personally think he was in bed with the other side! You want to tell someone to keep their mouth shut then ...
"Let it start with the man in your mirror!"
There are child molesters all over the country that have families, look at that ex-UPC preacher in Cali! Just because they have three kids doesn't negate the perverseness of their personality!
Give it a little time and his family will be fighting over the royalties!
This is what CNN had to say!
"It was the tales of oxygen chambers, chimp chums, shopping sprees and physical transformation that have brought intrigue and amusement and earned the singer the nickname Wacko Jacko."
The Mail said star's behavior drew increasing alarm following a "documentary in which he pronounced sharing a bedroom with a child to be 'charming' and an incident in Germany in which he dangled his baby son Prince Michael II over a balcony."
The country's Times newspaper said only a "handful of performers -- (Elvis) Presley, (Frank) Sinatra, the Beatles -- could outrank Michael Jackson as the most successful popular music entertainer of all time."
However, "as he approached middle-age, it was Jackson's abiding interest in children which was his undoing."
Then there was...
Thailand's Bangkok Post newspaper said: "While Jackson ruled the charts and dazzled audiences with electric dance moves like the backwards "moonwalk" in the 1980s, his once-stellar career was overshadowed by his colorful public behavior, his startling physical transformation and multiple allegations of child abuse."
Sigh, I guess we are just imagining his perverse ways, huh?

Wow! I guess some people are quick to judge. I'll leave that between him and God. If he did indeed do the things that he is accused of, he'll answer for it.

or not... we as worthy of the penalty as he. The real question is did he know the one able pay his debt? We are on equal standing at the cross.

Well said...
It is the depth of my understanding that I am in need of a savior that reminds me that the world is not in need of another judge.

Not backing down here either! I do read papers..silly! I am very alert but thanks anyway! Where have I written that I think "he was next to God"? Show me that! My point is that you do not know for a FACT anything about MJ. You know what you've read or heard and you have formed opinions based on that and that is so not right.
And I am quite aware that child molesters come in all shapes forms and fashion! I was a victim of one. That I know for a fact. I do not know for a fact anything about MJ's life other than his music. And apparently nor do you as you have not said you were close personal friends with him and experienced all his "perversions" up close and personal.

im willing to bet he had enough prescrips in him to wipe out a wal greens monthly allotment. so sad, i read one article where he told the interviewer im so lonely, sometimes i just walk around my neighborhood at night hoping to talk to someone , he was 23 , you just never know when you meet people what they need, most just need a friend that doesnt want anything in return except their friendship, such abuetiful voice and so childlike that would explain why children were drawn to him he was right on their level children will except everyone usually just like they are no preconditions. they only get corrupted by adults. i will never forget my son when he was little got into a dispute with a kid in the neighborhood, keep in mind we have less than 1 percent white in our state, but he had never heard any racial langauage from us he just wasnt raised that way, so when i said who did that to you he said that curly haired kid over there he was part of the only black family in the area. they know what they are taught. i was doing a job in a ladies house who was a health professional, didnt know anything about her and i commented on the fact that this nice tv wasnt on she was just constantly talking to the children and she said oh no ,i dont go there they have proven in medical studies that a childs mind is just like a computer, you can program it any way you want and if you constantly or even have the tv on at all with those flashing ,their mind is just snapping constantly and the aggressive behavior skyrockets she said she had proven it with other mothers. i wonder michael was treated when he was a child . no im not blaming tv for the perverse part of him not yet anyways its probably coming though. anyway such a physical talent wasted i saw a clip today on youtube and im going how did he make his feet do that? not just the moonwalk thing the rest of it too unbelievable !

Scott, I am shocked, shocked I say, that you were not at least a fan of Michael Jackson's early Bluegrass Era. Surely you remember such bluegrass hits as:
Thriller and Tenbrooks
Billie Jean Under the Tractor
Man in the Mandolin
And I loved to see MJ moon-clog.

Pastors: Michael Jackson Salvation Reports 'Not True'
By Adrienne S. Gaines
Pentecostal pastors Andraé and Sandra Crouch say recent reports that they led pop singer Michael Jackson to Christ three weeks before his sudden death June 25 are false.
In a posting on her Facebook page, Sandra Crouch, who with her brother, Andraé, leads Christ Memorial Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles, said reports that she and her brother met with Jackson and led him in the sinner's prayer are "incorrect and absolutely not true."
"We recently met with Michael to discuss recording two songs with our choir for his newest recording project," Sandra Crouch wrote in a statement signed by both Crouches. "Michael always had a respect and curiosity for spiritual things. During our meeting, not unlike many other creative/music meetings we've had with him the past, we sang together, prayed together and had a wonderful time."
Reports that Jackson sought prayer from the legendary gospel musicians began circulating Friday after the contemporary gospel duo Mary Mary posted a message they received from an associate of the Crouches on their Facebook page. "Michael asked Andraé to play ‘It Won't Be Long and We'll Be Leaving Here,'" the posting read. "Michael then prayed with Sandra and [Andraé] and accepted Christ into his heart. Now he's singing in the heavenly choir! Our hearts rejoice!"
A representative from Christ Memorial would not confirm or deny the accuracy of a separate posting on Andraé Crouch's Facebook page claiming that Jackson requested prayer "concerning the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and how he could make his music more ‘spiritual'" during a meeting with the Crouches roughly three weeks ago.
Dave Nassaney, Andraé Crouch's Facebook page administrator, wrote that Andraé and Sandra Crouch told Jackson about the anointing and about Jesus. "He wanted to know what makes your hands go up, and makes you ‘come out of yourself' and what gives a ‘spirituality' to the music," Nassaney wrote. "He then requested to hear his favorite song that he loves, and wanted [them] to sing to him, so they sang that song to him, and joined hands and sang together, and he said, ‘It was beautiful.'"
Nassaney said Crouch told him Jackson "definitely had an ‘encounter'" during the visit. Whether or not the pop icon accepted Christ remained unclear. Jackson was raised a Jehovah's Witness and reportedly converted to Islam in 2008.
"He did NOT reject Jesus or the prayer when they prayed, and gladly joined in prayer," Crouch said, according to Nassaney's post. "He usually doesn't touch anybody, but he touched them, and held their hands in a circle as they sang and prayed.
"There was NO actual ‘sinners prayer,' however, but they did talk and pray about Jesus and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. They also told him, "Michael, we consider you as our son," and he said, "Yes, yes, yes," and [Jackson] gave him his latest music on a CD, and he told him, "Andraé I trust you with this," and gave him CDs of two songs-unpublished, beautiful music."
Sandra Crouch said she and her brother are praying for the Jackson family. "We loved and respected Michael enormously and we've been friends with him for many, many years, and are deeply saddened by his sudden and tragic death," she wrote.
"We are praying for Michael's family and desire nothing less than God's best for them," she added.
