How pitiful and pathetic. The Father hoping to see 86 million a year out of his "product". Child Preachers are not impossible. But remember this. Preaching a sermon can be far, far removed from being a disciple of Yeshua.
They ordained this child because he could preach a sermon. How shameful. How evil of them.
When my brother was 14 years old he could preach to hundreds of people at our Church. Yet he could not witness to people he went to school with.
By the time the social swirl of the young people at Church coupled with a summer out on the "evangelistic circuit" with a famous Pentecostal Preacher got done with him his faith was destroyed. Backslid at 16.
Let a young person grow in Christ. Let them have time to get the truth in them. Let them be consistent in prayer and witnessing. Preaching can be done many places besides a Church building.

The old sing songy pentecostal preachin is very easily mimicked for an actor like this young man. No great shock that some folks choose to capitalize on it.
The "tongues" has my attention. We've seen it being "used/performed" by those like in the video told of.....the young red headed boy that was shown later counting his $$$ on the bed, and his performances we're "full of tongues". I know, I know, the devil has an imitation for everything as they say... But what I'm getting at is, is 'the tongues" of man/flesh made, or of the devil, (or of God?-highly unlikely in this instance) And if the tongues are in fact "fleshly tongue taliking", how much of that "fleshly tongue talking" actually is taking place in the "church realm"? I know...try the spirits....
I'm not convinced all the "tongues and interpretations" I personally hear, are God speaking.... Tho, I'm not about to say they are not for that may be considered blasphemy against the Spirit, and I DON'T wanna go there.
.... another thread I suppose...
I'm wondering where the kid(& his parents) will be in 10-20 years.

Phl 3:19 Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is their] belly, and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
We live in a world where peoples god is what meets their desires.
Cute kids.
Fine orations.
Feel good "God wants to see you prosper" based ministries.
And, as people will quickly pay for entry to an amusement park, they will also not delay to pay good money to feed their bellies with their own desires when it is wrapped up in the package of religion.
Charlatans cannot operate without non thinking & dull minded people.
In all of it... the children are the ones that are being taken advantage of. Everyone else is getting what they wanted.
And... in the end...the childs view of church, God & religion will be so skewed and destroyed by what he has seen and been a part of that very little outside a miracle from God will be able to cure them of the disenchantment they received in return for the millions their parents were able to bilk out of their stardom.
And... I don't believe for one moment that there is a trust fund for those kids anywhere. But... even if there were one... it won't be enough to pay for the irreparable damage they are doing by using this boy as a tool for their own monetary gain.

Yep... not all that speaks in tongues is of God. And that goes far beyond this young man and the video.

I am wondering where the kid and his parents are NOW... I am not impressed in the least.
Tongues... what really does it mean, or should it mean, when we hear tongues uttered? Often it is with great emphasis - even blasted through the microphone.
Do you value a statement more highly when it contains an explosive exclamation in tongues? Is it then spoken with greater credibility or veracity?

Sad that he is obviously being exploited, but that doesn't call the child's personal sincerity into question. I agree with the reporter that he seems concerned with pleasing his father and grandma.
Hopefully when he gets older he will put it into perspective, and not let the actions of greedy people skew his relationship with God.
As for the topic generally speaking, I have known some children who were VERY devout, and VERY sincere, who were not simply mimicking their elders. We need to be careful about calling the sincerity of others into question, without just cause.
And even those who do mimic what they have seen--I'm not sure I see harm in it. Stephen, what would you tell your girls if they were playing, and you found them pretending to preach a sermon, or praying for each other? Would that deserve a rebuke? Is it cute? Is there something wrong with it? What would your response be?
I do see harm in capitalizing on childish behavior, for personal gain. Past a certain age, I see harm in encouraging mimicry rather than personal relationship with God. But for very small children, I don't see the point in stopping their mimicry, unless it's disruptive or offensive to others.

I would likely discourage my kids from "pretending" to pray...

I wouldn't.
The Evangelist Shirley Caesar had a very real experience with the Lord when her and her sister were outside, "playing with the Lord" as their mother put it.
But on that one day, her mother saw the little girl Shirley Caesar jumping, shouting and praising God in their backyard and the mother said, "She ain't playing this time!"
However, I don't think putting a kid up to preach is appropriate-- regardless if the child is sincere or not.
I hope this child's parents do not have impure motives!

I just watched all nine parts of Marjoe...
Pretty interesting.
The good news is that the committee formed to study the emerging church will be exciting to know that with Marjoe there is more than just an intellectual assent to Christianity. There is what many understand to be a move of God.

Just not something we play about whether in English or "tongues" - but it is not a hard and fast rule.
