When Hillary Clinton didn't give Bill the boot out that he deserved, I decided she is a complete fool. And frankly, I know it sounds harsh, but when I think about this woman putting up with what her husband has done and still standing by him, I can only think the same of her.
The Bible does give allowance for divorce under at least one set of circumstances (these fit that!). I figure that God must have a good reason for that.
Of course, I'm in a kind of harsh mood tonight anyway, so maybe you all might want to just ignore me until I lighten up. :foottap

...
I hope this doesn't sound too chauvinistic but I think Hillary felt like she had to hang onto Bill Clinton to maintain any future political hope of leadership because this is such a male dominated and male controlled world. If she had rejected him it would have caused her to be ostracized by the Democratic party.

I have a hard time understanding it too. I am not sure if it is forgiveness and God given and approved of....or sheer denial for the magnitude of what he did.

Ever study cognitive dissonance? Her 'putting up with him' may be more about what she can't face about herself....

I suspect it would be hard to admit that she believed him. But I don't blame her at all. Poor woman.

It gives allowance but it does not make it mandatory. Thank God for people who can forgive

I see that not only does our society have a problem with adultery but also forgiveness and reconciliation

Incredible interview. Time will be the proof if this is the real Ted Haggard or not. I pray that is. I believe it is. I also thought it was real when I met him in class as a teacher and had lunch with him. I believe he REALLY wants to be in his heart. Only time will be impartial judge. I'm fresh out of rocks! :D

He does seem to want to change. I agree that time will tell what happens. He's such a smooth talker, it's hard to tell what to believe....

Yes, forgiveness is foolish, and it's also a paradox of what our culture's response would be. But it's a beautiful thing, and honorable thing.
After working in a Domestic Abuse shelter, I would say that "forgiveness" can be a very worldly thing. It is used in place of what is really happening; denial. Of course, we can't say anything for sure one way or another. True forgiveness and restoration is rare.

I didn't watch all of the interview, but people can fall and make mistakes, and while we cannot excuse sin,we can help people who have falled get back on track.
Before we cast stones,we must realize there but by the grace of God go you or I.
I would rather pour in the wine and oil than bury the wounded, there is restroration available to the fallen.
We all have the propensity to sin,and if I fell I would hope someone would lift me a helping hand, rather than shove me in the pit and cover me up,and leave me for dead.

Yes, I think we would all hope for that.
