Is it true most Christians became one when they were young? What about you? How old were you.

First event was when I was a child. The next landmark moment was as a young adult. And the third major event is happening now.

Raised to know the Lord and gave my heart completely at 16.

Started walking with the LORD at 12, in 2001, received the HG a year later, but was still trinitarian until I learned about JESUS name baptism at 15 in 2004, and I obeyed the Gospel, and my sister followed shortly thereafter (she was baptized at 13).

March 28, 1955 at the age of 17 I invited Jesus Christ into my heart and life.
He came in as the Holy Spirit.

Great! Everyone needs to post on this so we can get a good consensus.

When I was young child in Baptist Church, gave my heart to the Lord and was baptized. As a teen, I didn't live for Him like I should've, but I never doubted one minute how real He was. Introduced to Pentecost at 18 by my fiance, brand new to me, but after studying Acts, was convinced I wanted to come back to God, 100%. Was baptized in Jesus' Name 21 years old and received Holy Ghost 3 days after turning 22! Never looked back and He's sweeter every day!

Started the journey at 12 I think. I don't think I will be "saved" until the end though. I definitely feel like I am on the narrow path, though I guess some would disagree! :-/

This is amazing. So far its 12 to 1 ratio of people coming to Christ when they are young compared to when they are old. We are glad when someone who is older (no offence Arphaxad) comes to the Lord Jesus Christ. But this is verifying what I have seen in my own experience in witnessing over the years.

Generally if one doesnt get saved young they dont get saved.

Remember I said "generally". There are certainly exceptions.

That could explain why most outreach is geared to younger people.

I don't know because I do not know how old I will be when I have endured unto the end.

I was born of water and spirit when I was 25.
I told my partying friends that God was real when I was 15.
I knew definitively that there was a God when I was eight years old singing in my United Presbyterian youth choir.

Baptized at 13,
Received the Holy Ghost at 18, 51 yrs ago.

I believe it is according to the Power that dwelleth/lives in us.
Eat the Word and pray in the Spirit and you will grow, grow, grow.
If we do not keep our vessels FULL and overflowing with the Spirit,
there is room for other things to be put into that empty place.
If our vessel is half full of the Spirit, there is just as much room for
other things to be put there.

The ratio is now 22-1. The great majority of people get saved when they are young.

I, for one, am not surprised by your findings! I worked in Children's Ministry for many years and if you can get them while they're young....well, just look at the Catholics! LOL

I was 6 when I was baptized and received the Holy Ghost. However, I think I started taking my relationship with God more seriously in my late teens and early 20's. That's when I really started pursuing Him apart from my parents' encouragement.

I was not raised in any church at all. I attended a Baptist revival at age 15 and gave my life to Him that night. Walked briefly with Him then turned away until age 22 when I rededicated my life to Him at a UPC altar. I was baptized a week or so later and spoke in tongues a few after that. Although I believe 100% in my heart I received the Holy Spirit that night in the altar.

Sadly, due the immense amount of fear tactics heaped on over the years... sometimes I still don't feel saved. And not sure that I ever will...

Sadly, due the immense amount of fear tactics heaped on over the years... sometimes I still don't feel saved. And not sure that I ever will...

This is sad.
I don't think we are supposed to live in fear of "missing out" or "losing our salvation" or that we are never "good enough." This sounds like a "performance based religion."

A couple of verses in 1 John to consider...

1 John 1:7-10 and then verses 1 and 2 in the next chapter assure us that anything that is confessed/admitted to God is forgiven and cleansed and we do not have to worry about it any more.

1 John 5:1 tells us, "If you believe that Jesus is the Christ --that He is God's Son and your Savior-- then you are a child of God"

Then in verses 11-13 of that chapter it says that we can KNOW we have eternal life.

I think after a thread is already created it would need to be done by an admin. You might be able to send them a PM, and just tell them how you want it to be setup. I would think you would need to do age ranges...I'm not sure how many options you can have on a poll....4 or 5 I think...
