View Full Version : Desperate Job Situation

I'll try to make this short....
Was laid off in November from a great job, I actually mourned losing it, it was my dream job.
I found another one in March, but they wanted me to be a part of some very shady and unethical billing practices, and when I said I couldn't in good conscience, I was fired.
I could have normally been financially okay, as my Evangelistic ministry and Church Consulting Ministry would have supplemented my income, however, I took the right step and moved from the Church of God to the United Pentecostal Church to be true to my beliefs of what I knew was Truth. Of course all my old pastors won't use me now.
I'm continually posting for jobs, have sent out over 175 resumes...applying not only for jobs in my field of expertise, Healthcare IT, but even at grocery stores and Walmart, and I'm getting nothing. I need a miracle. My unemployment runs out next week.
I have one good lead. LifeWay Christian Bookstores Corporate offices are located here in Nashville. I have had two interviews with them, and they have been checking references. This would be an amazing job, so please help me pray for God's perfect will.
I only want what He wants for me....thanks.

Thank you so much for being so kind to pray for a perfect stranger.... I'm just waiting on the Lord, and what He has for me. I learned a long time ago, God doesn't deal in terms of Time, but of Timing.... so I'm trusting.

Great Lord God,
You see this brother's need and promotion comes neither from the north or south,
but it comes from You. If You would see fit, Lord, open up a job that this brother
can take care of himself and his family, in Jesus Name! Thank You, LORD!

You couldn't be true to your beliefs in the COG, perhaps you were needed there to bring them light?
As to the job situtation, have you considered moving to where there is work?

Brother, I took a vow (in the COG, you take vows when you are credentialed) to support the Declaration of Faith. Those 13 rules state what they believe. I also took a vow that if I ever could not support them, I would not cause division within the church, but give my credentials up. Scripture teaches us to honor our vows, and I must do that.
The job situation is the same everywhere, Nashville's unemployment rate is actually better here than most places. I am single, and have a home that would have to be sold, in a market that would create a loss. To try to move, sell my home, etc would be more expensive and financially less responsible than moving, and I have two elderly parents who depend on me being close should something happen with them. Moving isn't an option.
I don't want to sound ungrateful, but this was a prayer request. Why find fault with my prayer request or debate me on it? Why not just pray for me, or ignore it and move on? When people provide prayer requests at your church, do you do this to them?
If this is what this forum is going to be like, then there is no need for me to even start posting here. I'm looking for family, and fellowship, people to agree with me in prayer. We can debate in other threads, but this was a prayer request.

I wasn't finding fault with your prayer request or you leaving the COG I was just asking. Sometimes it hard to know how things are being asked and I should have added something to let you know I was just curious and not condemning. You explanation seems very valid and reasoned.
Sometimes even family can be knuckleheaded by the way.....:ursofunny.
I sincerely pray you find employment soon.
Be Blessed!!!!!! :thumbsup
Brother Tood, I am a fellow Nashvillian (well, almost as I live in Murfreesboro). I just toured the Lifeway distribution center in Lebanon a couple of weeks ago. Very nice people.
I understand about the job situation. My SIL that lives here was unemployed for 10 months before getting a job and the start date will mean it will actually be right at one year. Very scary job situation out there. Like you he had sent out hundreds of resumes.
I will be praying that all goes well. Keep us posted!
