My name is Charles, I live in Georgia, it was hard finding an Apostolic forum, and a lot of Christian sites now require $3.99 a month for you to look at your own profile. I've come to AFF because I seek quite a bit of help learning about God and advice on fighting many issues that are always coming against me, because I was not raised in the church. Now I've been with my church for two years, but tonight at a Wednesday evening bible study, my pastor taught of sound doctrine (Titus 2:1-8) and I felt like this was what I needed to hear, teaching doctrine of the bible bestows so many great things to someone so I wanna be taught and I wanna keep being taught so I studied the bible tonight, the subject matter was the Holy Ghost because I'm not sure as to whether or not I have it and what I mean by that is, I know speaking in tongues is the evidence, but one day the assistance pastor of my church said he heard barely tongues from me in an alter call but I didn't hear them. It took a while to track down a good forum, I'm here to ask away from things I don't understand and ask for help and prayer with things coming against me, of course when I post it will be in the proper forums.

Welcome, Charles.

Do you mind a little help with your grammar?

Welcome Charles!

I must warn you, the title of this forum is deceptive, sort of. Not that anyone is trying to be deceptive, it's just that there are many who come here to discuss what they disagree with the UPC doctrines.

What is GREAT about this forum, is that you will at last be able to read what most preachers don't want to tell you. This place will get you back to reading your Bible and letting God speak to you instead of letting men tell you what it says.

When I joined this forum a few months ago, I believed all kinds of things that I realized are not even in the Bible! I believed that God had "things" I had to do to be saved, that were really just stuff men taught.

Anyway, I just didn't want you to be blown away. There are people on all sides of discussions here, including at least one person who doesn't know if he thinks God even exists. Most of us really like "Timmy" (the one who isn't sure about God) because he not only adds humor to man's reasoning, but makes us think about why we believe what we believe.

The best place to post questions is in the Fellowship Hall I have found. You will get more responses there, in my opinion.

Well, the thing is I go to church and hear preaching but at the same time, I'm not only encouraged by the preachers to read for myself and let the Word speak, but the reason I searched for a forum was I was reading and questions began to form about what I was reading and I didn't want to risk waiting until Sunday to talk to someone about what I'm confused about.

Welcome!! You will see many opinions posted here, but most often they are clearly marked as such. I've seen more encouragement from posters to seek God for yourself - I promise the more you seek Him, the more truth will be revealed to you. And talking it over with friends is a good way to receive confirmation of what God has already shown you in His Word.
